I saw Bongo and Hedge being interviewed about their new fillum yesterday. A tour movie in 3D that will only be shown at certain special 3D cinemas around the world. You've got to wear special polarised glasses to watch it. The fillum will be beamed into the cinemas using technology, rather than being actually sent on a disk or whatever. And then that's it: no 2D general release DVD or anything.

Bongo said it's great for him because him and the rest of the band are the only people in the world who've not been lucky enough to see the band. Hedge was squirming a bit as he said that. Then Hedge pointed out, helpfully I thought, that the fillum would be no good for anyone who didn't like U2. He was smirking a bit as he said it though, so you could tell he was thinking that everyone loves them really.

Then they both agreed that now that they've had the chance to see U2 live from a mortals perspective, they do like the band.

So, what more do you want? A direct approval from the two most important people ever that this fillum, featuring them, is something that you should want to see.

And there will be no DVD release. Oh no.

I don't think U2's music can aesthetically support a third dimension.

Not sure it will be on round here. I would certianly go though. Brilliant live show, despite the singer being a bit of a plonker.

As much as I like U2, I won't go see it simply because there will be no DVD. I know it sounds silly, but I'll be bitter if I like it and can't own it.

The U2 in concert in 3D?

Aren't all live concerts already in 3D:confused2:

So all the concert, just not the busy parking lots, old geezers puking from too much beer behind ya:nuts:

This is worse than the packaging then repackaging of compilations by NO:rofl:

Ever noticed that the amount of "punch me I'm a pretentious cunt"-ness exuded by Hedge is inversely proportional to his distance from Bongo Cocks?

I may mail U2's management and ask if they would consider making a movie and saying "one legged people keep out" or "mastectomy patients are not welcome". Cos apparently a movie that requires 2 perfectly functional and syncronized eyes IS OK.

an excellent point, eloquently made.

EDIT... TWO excellent points, eloquently made.

EDIT EDIT: both my eyes work fine(ish, with glasses) but while my left eye is open, my right is sort of switched out. Mates used to REALLY fuck me off with those autostereograms (that's magic eye pictures to the commoner), there's no fuckin way I'm seeing them, gits.

And now back to our scheduled topic, Bongo, our part in his downfall.......

he actually makes my flesh creep.

as far as i'm aware, having only one working eye will not prevent you from being able to see the film.

Or go to see films that have no DVD availability, for that matter?
