I'm in shock, Italy have just gone out to S Korea...

my worldcup fantasy squad is now in a state of disarray as i had 4 italians in it including their goalie :( oh bugger!

So far Brazil have struggled against Turkey and Belgium, and beaten China and Costa Rica (who in fairness could and should have scored more than two).

England have already beaten Argentina and mullered Denmark. They played well within themselves to draw with Nigeria, and apart from a shocking second half against Sweden have been composed and controlled throughout. Number of goals conceeded = 1.

I don't see anyone in the last 8 to be afraid of.

Ah, but I still have the "whoever wins the Brazil v England game will win the tournament" prediction trump card up my sleeve.

I'm blaming Brighton And Hove Albion for my hopeless World Cup enthusiasm....I've just got used to that winning feeling!

Oh yeah Shug, your bhoys are down this way soon to play Portsmouth in pre-season friendly, so I'll pop along to that one.

Nice one mate;) Looks like it's gonna be Brazil, judging by their performance yesterday.....but you can never dismiss the Germans (even with half a squad) As fer The Tic versus Pompey hope you enjoy yerself, I'd love to go down an all - but with all the money I'm gonna end up spending in Mancland - methinks it's not gonna be possible! How's young Burchill going? Has he recovered yet? Is Prosinecski still with ye's? With Burchill fit and firing things could get a lot better for ye's this year

Err, I'm not actually a Portsmouth fan :nono: I just live here, and they manage to get much nicer pre-season friendlies than BHA (Orient? Walton and Hersham? Worthing Town? No, me neither).

None of my colleagues know too much about Mark Burchill, the general vibe I'm getting is that he'll never play again. Last I heard, Prozzy-wots-iz-face was off to Japan for a million quid a game with Grampas Eight. Or something.
