have to admit i aint heard that many of interpol.the ones i have heard were fairly good though. but love editors,great live band too. so voted for them
I'm basing my vote simply on Bright Lights, which wipes the floor with the Editors.... however Interpol have turned poppy so everything went downhill after Bright lights....
INTERPOL defo,but to give Editors their due,AN END HAS A START is more consistantly good than Interpol's last album.
Interpol. Mainly for having the most consistently amusing bass player in the history of music.

His name is Carlos Dengler and is half German and half Colombian. I Heard his mother is from a city called Cali.. here in my Country.
-He recently wrote, produced, and scored a short film called Golgotha, directed by his friend Daniel Ryan. -In the past, Carlos pursued disc jockeying. He would spin 80s/New Wave music but also threw more obscure and contemporary tunes into the mix.
-Carlos has also remixed songs for B-side releases including VHS or Beta's "Night on Fire", "Every Day Is Exactly the Same" by Nine Inch Nails alongside Sam Fog (which is bandmate Samuel Fogarino) and Interpol's own "Public Pervert".
-Carlos plays a black standard Fender Jazz Bass (which was used on Antics and Turn on the Bright Lights) with the knobs removed (Antics era and beyond) and does not use any effects pedals.
-He contributed the song "Katya and Josh Ain't Havin' It" to the HBO Voyeur Project.
If you'd asked me this last year, I would have said Editors. But now it's definitely Interpol.
Haven't really listened to either much, but I shall make it a priority for my time off to investigate...

Editors first album is a gem but the guitar sound on An End Has A Start is beginning to get on my tits a bit.

Right, bought the first Editors and Interpol albums this afternoon... Have listened to The Back Room - better overall than the tracks I'd heard before... Based on the first track of the Interpol album, think I'll like the more, but I guess from what folks have said I'll near to hear the newer stuff as well...

In a straight toe-to-toe? Editors, easily, just cos they're Engerlish. You seen their lead singer dance? Can just imagine him windmilling through the centre of a ruck.
Musically, Interpol. They've at least got a couple of tracks I think of as classics. Don't feel the same about Editors. They always struck me as music for stowdents.

I'm voting Interpol mostly because I've heard "Turn on the Bright Lights" a helluva lot more than the Editors' stuff. Though I really wish there was a TIE! button because I love the Editors' first album [thanks for sendin' me that, banshee! 
] and I haven't stopped listening to it at all since I got it [in the mail on Saturday].
Editors.
Bright Lights was great, but if you consider Interpol's body of work as a whole they've really gone downhill with each album. Editors have released consistently good music, even if AEHAS is a bit ballad-heavy. Plus they're great live. I've seen them five times.
I love Interpol, their songs are so passionate and probably would enjoy it more if I was younger. Artsy, dark yet vibrant.
They sound a lot like Joy Division maybe that's why I like them and prefer them over the Editors. Editors remind me of the soulsy side of Coldplay but I like the song "Munich"

More familiar with Editors .Got both albums.Never got into Interpol depsite repeatedly trying to find time to fit them in.

At the moment i would go for Interpol as Editors is turning a bit to much into ChrisMartinColpdplaymodus these days.
Although Racing Rats and Weight of the World are great tracks...
But for the moment it's Interpol

I think 'Racing Rats' is the latest single of the album. Maybe 'push your head...' is becoming the next single?

steve wright plays it almost everyday at 3 o'clock.
in fact he played the last 2 singles everyday at around 3 as well when they were out. must be something about 3 o'clock

Still prefer Interpol.
I've been listening to the Editors more lately and somewhere along the line the music finally clicked. I take back what I've said in the past, An End Has a Start is a brillant album. Bright lights is still better, but AEHAS is really close behind...
since Edith 'everythings amazing' Bowman got on the scene of hyping editors every chance she gets, i'm swinging towards interpol
Interpol. Both live and on record.
Live, Editors have done some cracking gigs. But none tjhat I've seen have been as good as the best Interpol ones I saw in Zurich, Munich and Berlin. And watching Interpol is just funnier.
On record, Interpol have Evil, Obstacle 1, No I In Threesome, Roland, Narc, Take You On A Cruise, Pioneer to the Falls, Leif Erikson, Untitled, Slow Hands, Untitled, PDA, Stella, NYC, C'Mere, Specialist, Say Hello To The Angels, etc etc. Editors dont have as many great songs.
And everytime I've met Interpol they've always been dead nice to me.

Speaking of Hogan. Last week I saw the Nick Hogan sentencing. Hulk got up in court with his bandana on, unbuttoned shirt and a big gold chain and spoke about the case. It was so great I could have wept. And then Brooke got up in a little short skirt. And again, I could have wept with joy.
Nick only got eight months. Proof that after all these years, Hogan still Knows Best.

This sums up the problem with most of this board. People go around saying "I love Joy Division" and when someone comes along they go "They sound too much like Joy Division, they're shit."

was limited to 500 copies of each version in the uk. they were going for 80 notes on ebay!
off to see their warm up for glasters gig in june in a pub in frome, should be a cracker.
not sure if i've voted on this but will go with editors for the simple reason that interpol are in decline & i like editors more live.
(& of course bowman is bigging up her boyfriends band)
