Hi, just found this place

I am, I suspect, no different from most on here, a long time Joy Division and New Order enthusiast. I bought Closer when it was first released and that was that....no going back. Back in those days I had to go to Leeds to buy records as the local shops had bugger all, nothing of a journey now but as a youth it was a big adventure. Anyhoo, it never dawned on me that there was an online NO community until I stumbled upon this place late last week. Most of my best years and co-incidently NO's were spent wasted and as a result I never got to see the band live which is a big regret. I have built up a fair collection of vinyl, tapes, VHS, cd's etc....and have to rely on those to keep the habit fed.

I am a middle aged male residing in Castleford West Yorkshire, married with 2 teenage daughters, the eldest recognises NO tracks from the first bar but the youngest thinks them to be "ghey". I run a highways maintenance contract to pay the mortgage and my other passion in life is cars, I am currently on my third Celica GT4 and it bleeds me dry every month.

Fuck off Ian! I hate all that have seen them live! I've posted my luck sometime back.... my personal view is that NO have to rejoin, only so I can actually see them live! Jack, get crackin'!

Welcome, dt4! I've never seen them live either. I've missed the 2 times they've been through Colorado in the last 20 years.

Thanks for the welcome folks, I have a couple of live recordings. I need to dig all the stuff out and see whats what, my memory is'nt what it used to be.

With the recent weather being crap I looked for something to watch on the video and found the old Brixton tape, that got me searching for more and I found I had 2 of the same just different sleeves. If any one wants the spare they are welcome, happy to swap for a copy of something else.

I used to frequent the gig scene in Leeds through the 80's, less so in the 90's when the kids came along. Dont know how I managed never to see the band live, one of lifes quirks I suppose. I always thought it would happen but it never did and now its too late, lifes a bitch then you die.

I feel like a total retard reading some sections of the forum though, I know nothing on comparison.

Indeed, the bright lights. I spend much on my weekend taxiing the kids back and forth. from Xscape and Freeport.

Also, I see a fellow Leeds sufferer. I was thinking whether to incorporate some iconography of the Glory years into my avatar and can see I have been beaten to it. LUFC is one of the reasons I missed much of the 80's and 90's, the beer dulled the pain.

Several copied last night and DIGGY MIKE has kindly offered to help with several others that didn't copy CORRECTLY.Should play via PC or DVD player if it is the right SPEC.Lot's of fun re-listening to some of the shows copied too.The HAC soundcheck and concert is GREAT if you like to see how they set it all up.In the SOBELL gig the synths are playing PERFECT KISS whilst CEREMONY is supposed to start.Watch GILLIAN's reaction to getting it sorted.Obviously these gigs are 23 years old and the HAC one 21 so ALLOW for this in the quality. Expect about 5 gigs to begin with.And as i said before will check out what audio CD-Rs are knocking about too.Then there is that DOCUMENTARY that i am expecting any day now. I have just played a couple of minutes of each to check the stupidly expensive (but not worth the money) pioneer dvd blah blah can cope. It does, therefore I am dog like and two dicked. Had to turn it off though as 5.1 bass goes through the foundations and upsets the neighbours.
