Without giving anything (too much) away what's yer favourite season?
Cannae believe a missed this the first time around, I think cos I missed the first couple of series, I never bothered with it.
3 episodes into the first series and really enjoying it. I have managed to burn the first 3 series to DVD, only another 3 to go :D
You've watched three episodes? ... and want us to fill you in with what happens over the next six seasons so you don't have to watch them?! 
Season 1, in truth, takes some beating. The climax is fantastic with his Mum and Uncle June both gunning for Tony, literally.
After that I just think of who's new in each series and picture that series as being synonymous with them.
For season 2 there's Richie Aprile and Tony's sister Janice, then for 3 it's Jackie Aprile Jr becoming a man, season 4 it's Ralphie being an all-round cock, and then season 5 is all about Steve Buscemi. Then there's just LOADS going on in season 6, pts I and II.
There are some truly excellent episodes to look forward to though - "Pine Barrens" takes some beating. It features, basically, just Chris and Paulie lost in the woods and was actually directed by Buscemi himself.
And the opener "Members Only" for Season 6 is my favourite episode of the lot. Begins with a narration by William S Burroughs talking about the seven levels of the soul in Ancient Egypt or summat. Pretty hi-brow stuff. Also has a shocking ending with an attempted 'hit' on Tony. Oh, and the "best hanging I've ever seen on TV" as my mate Goat emailed me to say from the States after he saw it ... then emailed 10mins later saying, "I can't believe I just typed that!"
EDIT - this got me thinking after writing this so went and googled for other people's top episodes. Lots of opinion out there on the net. "College" appears very highly in most people's list - you're gonna come across that dead soon as it was in the middle of series 1. Really shows the marked difference between Tony's two 'families'!!

Really sorry,totally forgot.Had my head mentally and emotionally caved in in recent months.You would'nt believe my tale anyway.Hollywood would knock it back as a script for being too dramatic,most prob..Coming out of the woods,and ready for a bit of a fling now,I reckon!!

Thanks for not going intae too much detail Al and nae worries BRF - a mate at work had all the episodes on data discs, so it's just a case of putting them on ma computer and converting them to DVD. These are gonna be a big help as I go on the wagon till Barca in the summer. When I say wagon, I'll be out for Pig Champion on Friday and a gig in Leicester for the Charlatans in May, but other than that I am gonna behave.

this is my favourite episode. paulie losing his shoe--classic! christopher and paulie are as good as laurel and hardy in this one.

I was convinced the Russian Commando would turn up again one day!!!
The lost in the forest with the Russian commando episode is quality "Bah! I wash my balls in ice water!" 
Be hard pressed to choose an absolute favourite season but loads of episodes have stuck in my head quite well, such is the nature of The Sopranos beast.
"Mr. Ruggerio's Neighborhood" from season three where the FBI try to place a bug in the Soprano homestead over the course of the episode is incredibly well done. They have to figure out exactly when the entire family is out then en masse troop in and get to work. The way that one ends is quite amusing.
"Whoever Did This" from season four is very, very good as well. Tony becomes increasingly pissed off with one of his Captains regarding the "accidental" death of a much loved race horse and... well, I won't ruin it for Shug!
I've had a break from The Sopranos for a bit.. due for a revisit soon methinks. Watched Goodfellas the other day for the first time in ages and was surprised to see just how much of The Sopranos cast pop up.
Talking of Goodfellas, wasn't Ray Liotta originally signed up for Tony Soprano but it fell through for some reason?

Indeed. Seven fucking series though. Well, six, but seven really. Where would you find the time?
Still, the Wire finishes this weekend but I plan to watch 24 after that ... have got series 4-6 ripped on my iPod! Took me ten fcuking months to watch series 1-11 of South Park on the iPod going back and forth from work though!

I am well pissed off 24 season 7 has been delayed for a full fcuking YEAR due to the Hollywood writers strike. It was meant to debut a month ago so my torrent was primed and ready but they've decided to hold off so they can show it uninterrupted.
Of course, 24 is extremely far fetched by default but it's a bloody good laugh witnessing someone having that shit a day(s). Dunno if I'm alone but I find 24 far more palatable than "Sloanes"... err "Spooks" I mean. We Brits haven't quite cracked that spy genre yet I reckon.

i wonder if steve buscemi was thinking of his experience in 'fargo' when he directed this one!
