Come now, there are just some of Barney's lyrics that just make you laugh thinking "is that the best he could come up with?"
Mine: I'm gonna live 'til I die
Brilliant!
So what's yers?

chorley, it should be in DR thread, not BCD.
Ah here's a cliche:
...a wonderful place, With clouds, lakes and a human race.
Smth like that.
Even worse:
I know, you know, We believe in the land of love.
its such a strange day ,in such a strange way..
some people look down on me , i hope they like what they see.
Its called love, love, love love love, its called love and it belongs to us.
in fact - that whole song
violaine wrote: Now I’m all grown up to be A paranoid schizophrenic
from the new Charlatans album.
didn't know barney had written that!
Not bad lyrics per se but a it's a terrible idea to overlay your own voice if you're planning to perform the song live.
So that's what Barney did on Waiting for the Sirens' Call.
I was cringing with him at all subesquent gigs.
Open hearts Empty spaces Dusty roads To distant places But all the time When I'm alone I think of you And how you've grown
Far and wide Sweet and simple Jehovah knows That I've been sinful
But if Jesus comes to take your hand I won't let go, I won't let go
I'm not cruel And you're not evil And we're not like All those stupid people Who can't decide Which book to read Unless the paper Sows deceit
You're the kind of person That I've always wanted to be with We'll you're really cool And you always say the right things to me But now I'll tell you something From my heart beats for you deep inside But never be a burden And my love for you will never die, never die, never die, never die, never die
But if Jesus comes to take your hand I won't let go, I won't let go
But if Jesus comes to take your hand I won't let go, I won't let go
Good times around the corner Good times around the corner Good times around the corner I swear it's getting warmer Good times around the corner Good times around the corner Good times around the corner
I'm gonna live 'til I die I'm gonna live to get high
****************************
The whole lot. No matter how 'personal' it may be, it's a crock of sh*te

Best song they've done for a long time! "Good times around the corner I swear it's getting warmer!" and a few other lines... Even if it's also irritating as fuck being jealous of a life of leisure, spent working improving your craft. (As opposed to the future-less void, or soul destroying fucking crushing normality, that swallowed many of their fans.)
Eh you all forgot about... "We're playing for Eng-er-land"!? and what about Waiting For The Boring Fart" (of an album let alone track!)
But their/his best is still "Turn The Heater On/Turn The Heater On".
I don't get why people have such a dislike for "Run Wild".
I actually think its a very nice song. Ok, I could do without all the religious stuff, and that seems really, really weird for Barney (thats an understatement), but okay, Barneys songs are very intense sometimes and emotional and personal, in other ways, but this is one of the few songs thats really one of those "sweet", emotional songs. Something that seems like it was really close to his heart. Was probably something really hard for him to write, but it came out kinda cheesy, but I really like it. And I really liked the version they did live at the Hyde Park show, though the lyrics were all messed up because of his missing auto-cue .
but it was great like that.
Give the song some love! :D
Run Wild and Jetstream are two of my favourite NO tracks.
As this is the 250,000th time I have mentioned this on these boards, I hereby declare today 'National Biggy Likes Run Wild and Jetstream' Day.
Feel free to take the rest of the day off from whatever it is you do.
Good times around the corner.

I'm already having the traditional Biggy Likes Run Wild and Jetstream Day breakfast of cheese and ham sangers with green BPM.
And yes, later, I'll be joining the rest of the cuntry in hanging out a small bag of peach stones on the end of a plastic fork, and later I too will be spinning franticly in the street humming, na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na and who knows, everyone has time for ONE game of Fradley's Scrote in a year, and we all know there's no better time that Biggy Likes Run Wild And Jetstream Day.
The..'with mountains, lakes and the human race' from Krafty gets my vote, and I'm a big,big Krafty fan..
It's only the 'the human race' part that cheeses me out actually..Why on earth did'nt he plump for 'your stupid face' in there instead, turning it into a great lyric?
Love Krafty![]()
Krafty and Run Wild are up there, and like a few others, I'm a big fan of both... Liar, on he other hand, is a big steaming pile of poo, musically and lyrically... So while joinging the multitudes in celebrating Biggy Likes Run Wild and Jetstream Day, I will be secretly praying that Paul McKenna comes and hypnotises me into forgetting that one ever existed... I shall also be playing the whole of Republic later, but skipping Liar and instead going for nice big dump... I hope you'll join me...

Indeed!
"Idiot Country" always cracks me up. Its corny as hell yet genius. Only Barney can pull such a thing off.
Should I sue them? and clearly those aren't the worst Barney lyrics.... one thing I am glad for though is that shitty U2 'One' song was in the list. Hate how everyone goes off as if that song were lyrical genious...
Sadly, as much as I love the song, TToN has some damn corny lyrics in my honest opinion.
I'll think of more at some point, I promise.
