St Patricks day was on Saturday (15th) this year, today is the start of Holy Week in the Catholic calendar, and you cant have a saints feast day during it (St Josephs day was also moved to the 14th).

fuuny thing, i thought it was only us yankees that took st.pat's seriously. I met two irish guys on the train this morning. they came all the way from Ireland for the parade.

Sorry but, I'm an Episcopalian/Anglican. The Pope isn't my final authority. That's my stand on it and I'm sticking to it! 
17 March will always be Saint Patrick's Day in my calendar. Holy Week or otherwise.

The day's no fun in Ireland - it's a day of temperance, there, traditionally. It really is an American holiday, a way of showing all those nativists back then just how many Irish there are here. My cousins come out from Ireland too to have a good time
