Certificates arrive back at my desk with a post it saying," He hasn't left the Navy yet.

I spend the next 20 minutes verifying my dates, like I don't have better thing to do, and give them back to my boss.

Boss: He hasn't left the Navy yet. Me: He's on pre-discharge leave.

Boss: He hasn't left the Navy yet. Me: He's on pre-discharge leave.

Boss: Why are you working ahead, don't you have enough work? Me: :banghead: Me: It has always been on walkout date.

Co-worker: We have always worked on their last working day in the Navy.

Two hours later those certificates finally get checked.

I was in the military recruiting offfices several times: in Russia they don't recruit, there's draft. I was in college so I became a lieutenant. In the States I tried to get enrolled in AirForce and Navy - but I failed to meet their high standards, to them I appeared as no-good young man.:skeptic:

I understand, Ronald, how difficult it is to deal with military personell - they submit only to orders, but there's civil rights, too.

This is someone who has been my boss for over a year and should know better and is very particular on just about anything.

Nice to know that being up-to-date equates with not having enough work in her strange mind. I just can't win there.

It almost makes me want to slack off.

His core identity was forged in the sweat and man-bonding of butt camp. No more poof....er, proof, needed.

what is so funny is that people still did not get that they were gay at this point, society was so naive:laugh: ... then after this some rumours started about how they might be gay

of course, the British Navy had problems with cannabalism, at least according to Monty Python

They were just pretending.

I used to know a YMCA co-ordinator, who remembered the massive upturn in the organisation's membership in the late 70's due to these guys. It was initially welcomed, but then frowned upon when it was realised that they were all bumming each other.

The US Navy were going to use In the Navy as their theme tune, until someone pointed out what it meant.

They were simpler times. Freddie Mercury was considered a real man, and white too.

Not that botters can't be real men, of course. You know what I mean...

NOTHING to do woth the Navy....Except for those long months at sea, whiling away the hours jammed together in the tight holds of those sweaty man-ships...

Exercising, oiling their naked, muscled bodies, braiding their hair, bumming their homosexual lovers....

Or was that the Spartan Hoplites-- the GREATEST WARRIORS ON EARTH? :confused2:

Don't ask, don't tell, eh?

If there were, they'd probably get their asses kicked. Not much tolerance around them parts.... Navy tends to have a happy-go-lucky attitude and alot more tolerant, not to mention they disappear on ships for months at a time, never to see land.... there usually is a problem of the females charging for BJs and such in the Navy, guess if yer a cheap skate bumsex works as well.....

They were simpler times.

Captain: "Admiral, sir, the seamen are all gay."

Admiral: "Wonderful news, Captain! Happy sailors will have a dramatic positive effect on naval morale."

Captain: "Admiral, sir, I didn't mean the seamen are "happy," sir....Although they may be...."
