It's the American 'Ring Ring' like the telephone on Columbo.
I hate stupid ring tones but can tolerate songs. My last one was Here to Stay which I liked, but I lost it when I got my new phone.
It's been Age Of Consent for the last few months, last year it was The Vikings dance mix that we got off Hooky.

Blue Monday-95 (Plutone Radio Edit) at the mo.
It actually sounds like a proper Midi ringtone as well.
Used the 24 CTU ringtone for a while but then realised everyone has it 
Had Salvation Theme on my old phone, got a new one recently and have't bothered with anything more adventurous than Ring Ring.
Dabbled with Gene Hunt saying 'Let's Fire Up The Quattro' and Yoda saying 'Hmmm, a message you have' for the message tone, but neither lasted.
The same as last time this question was asked.
I must be the last person on earth who just has a mobile phone; no camera, no interweb, no polyphonic ring tones. You know what it bloody works even if it is on its third cover.
BTW it is BLT.

It starts with a carspeeding sound (or something) and makes everyone jump when it rings.
Mine just vibrates. Suits me for all occasions. In the office I don't want it disturbing people if I'm away from my desk, when I'm driving I don't want to hear it if it does ring, when it's in my pocket I feel it and when I'm at home I hear it driving across the desk where I leave it.
The real question should be; Is this the most boring post on NOOL ever?
Without sounding like a nerd, i have different ones for different things,
Work, an "in joke" Starsky & Hutch theme! 
Family, I Believe, by SMD which is starting to annoy me.
Friends, King of the Beats, by Mantronix.
msg alert is, Clear, by Cybrton an old electro tune.
Having said all that, 90% of the time its probably on silent.
Calls from randoms....Ceremony Calls from me nearest and dearest...The Happy One. Texts, The sound of a type 40 time capsule dematerializing. Alarm, Joe90
giaue for the longest time now. Too lazy to switch it as i should because i'm tired of the damn song. Run seems like a good one considering the opening lines and it takes a lot for me to answer the phone.
Bizarre Love Triangle - has been for over two years since I first recieved it - think that's why I can't be bothered to upgarde my phone, that ring has been all over the world with me!

not a very original choice, but ceremony for me. when it went off in a staff meeting, a colleague said afterwards it had taken a little time to work out what it was, but was the best ring tone he'd heard. a dicovered fan!

Anybody else get that thing when you feel your phone vibrate in your pocket but when you go to get it out it's not there? 
I get that a lot, but when it's in my bag, I swear it's ringing manically but when I root through my bag for it there's no missed call or anything

TIM-in 1995 i had REGRET playing on my answerphone to ANNOY my wife who had LEFT me.Always brings a smile to my face when i hear it these days.How SUCH a TENSE time can be overcome and i can wallow away in my NEW LIFE.As for mobiles-no fcuker ever rings me cos they say they can't get a WORD in!And i only receive HATE TEXTS too.
Transmission for most folks who call, the theme from the Office (handbags and gladrags) for work, Trans-Europe Express for some other people.......and Miss Modular by Stereolab is on my phone as well.
anybody who calls me gets to hear Goin' Back by The Byrds until I decide whether or not to answer it.....:D

I am a bit like Nooligan, I do not care as long as it rings when you are called and allows you to phone.
My parents (including brother) gave me a new phone by Junuary - the kind of deal like "take it or you will be no more one of our family if you don't." My previous one was a Motorola 1996 or something like and had simple ringtones like US, UK, German, French ringtones. It was so simple...
Now I have a merely outdated Nokia at the moment which is a completly amazing device to me. I have all the options... Still don't know how it works. Ring tones ? The most neutral I found - what a fight. I therefore know when I am called. Messages are the sound of a typing-machine at the end of a line.

How do you upload songs in your phone ? Which format is it ?

i got time on my hand, gave all of my contacts different ringtones
same goes with my msg alerts (txt and emails)

Interesting choice - which bit have you ripped? Just the opening "one-two-three-four", or summat else deeper into the track?
Thinking of putting Cosmic Cars on me phone to identify the Mrs cos it's their only track she can remember!
I had the opening bars ("rock-rock") of Al-Naafyish as my text alert for an age but everyone just thought I'd recorded a dog barking!

To upload really depends on the phone, some allow you to plug straight into the computer by USB, but some don't. My Motorala Razor only allows a bluetooth connection to the computer. Downloading through Bluetooth is real easy.
You use a regular mp3 format, but need to cut the song shorter as it willonly play about 50 seconds of it while ringing. You can cut the song through iTunes, and I'm sure many other programs.
As soon as you download the song, it will ask you if you want to use it as a ringtone and specifically how (for all cals or for individuals).
Its really pretty easy.

just got the new sony erricson and the software doesnt seem to work so dont have any tunes on it, but my last phone had sound and vision by dave bowie and krafty for texts
Here we go with Leeds United I would use a NO tune but I dont have any and my kids wont help as I am technologically simple. I alternate it with Marching on together as that also pisses off everyone in the office

I've got an old Motorola V220 and I haven't put any tunes on it. My ringtone and alarm tone are pre-sets and my text tone is Sue White from Green Wing (love that show) screaming "A haaaaaandbaaaaaag!"
