Saw Portishead live in Amsterdam the other night. F**k me, it was great!!!!

'Roads' still is one their best tracks..what a classic!

And they closed 'we carry on', a new track, and it's guitarparts reminded me very much of Joy Division, maybe some of you have heard it already?

Other new stuff sounds good as well, bit more industrial kinda sounding beats but still Portishead.

I'm seeing them at the Apollo tomorrow night. They really are one of the best live acts I've ever seen: recall them playing in a tiny tent at Glastonbury in 1995, the crowd cheering every time the singer opened her mouth.....like seeing Sinatra, or summat.....

I'm seeing them on Saturday night in Edinburgh. Really looking forward to it now.

Yous Portishead fans probably know that Mysteron is obviously a nod to Barry Gray, but if you use you filetheft client to search for Barry Gray, Mysteron Theme, you will see that the track is a total homage to that one piece.

I'm taping it so I can put it on next time I've got mates round.

I'll pop it on when I want them to leave.

I was feeling all happy after PH, now I'm all fed up.

I'm going to get one of them miserable content filters on my telly.

Portishead. They are ace. Pity the gig in Manchester was full of Mancs last week. Ruined my (£35) night they did, fucking wankers.

Sorry, Col, but Mancunians are the worst bunch of cunts on the planet.

We could have you in a fight though so think on.

Actually, MARTIN, you're not exactly the ideal gig partner are you? Spent all of one gig screaming AGE OF CON FUCKING SENT down my ear and earned me a fractured skull at another.

So shut it

Absolutely brilliant on Later.Watched it on Friday night and just again On Demand.Aye they're deffo doing a Radiohead and fleshing out down different directions and avenues and good on em for that .We Carry On was superb and great how Beth dissappeared after she finished her vocals to leave the band to finish the climactic ending.Loved the guitars on that one.Beth hasn't aged a bit either.

The new album is available for free download, a week before release, on Last FM, from next week, apparently.

Is it just me or have Portishead aged about 10 years since I last saw them on telly?

Is it just me or have you pooh poohed every band/cd suggestion tonight?

Well funny you should say that - I've just let off a huge apocalyptic fart in the general direction of a band from Liverpool just a moment ago.

A truly exquisite exorcism indeed, I must say! :D
