Anyone got a new phone recently?

I've had my Sony Ericsson 8210 for a good two years now. It's a fcuking brick, way too big. And who really gives a fcuk about a Cybershot camera, or whatever. I've taken precisly 37 snaps on it in those two years. 90% of which are just football grounds. Strange dat.

Anyone got anything new which might appeal? I'm short on ideas. Everyone just seems to have the same phone as me, or the N95, which is an even bigger brick.

I'm due a newie soon. Thinking of waiting until June for the N96. Those Blackberry Pearl's seem to be the rage up here at the mo. If the N96 is crap that's where I'm headed. The black one not the pink one obviously.

EDIT: It seems the N96 is out already.

I want an I-phone. I've always gone for small slim phones that I can keep in my pockets, but now I want the internet with me at all times.

I want a reasonably large phone so that:

a. It's more difficult for me to lose it

b. The keys aren't so small that I end up sending text messages like, 'Are you gonog to the Livderpol match tomnrqw?'

I don't want a crappy camera with 3megapixels - I've got a camera already.

I don't want internet - I've got a computer.

I don't want satnav - I've got a brain and an A-Z map.

I don't want a MP3 Player - I've already got one.

I don't want games - life is more fun.

I don't want 'video call' - I can get a webcam.

Mine's a Sony Ericsson k810i and although it works okay, I'd prefer something that simply does phone calls and texts.

My phone is around 4 inches long, 1/2 inch deep and 1 1/2 inches wide, so the size is fine for me.

What...you only want to make phone calls on your phone?

What a novel concept...

Could I interest you in one of these...

I've always been one for changing phones every six months or so, bought an iPhone in America last August, and I'm still using it now. Its superb, got everything I need. And, they're so easy to unlock now, just got o an Apple store, or o2 /CPW take it home and unlock it

I don't believe this - but just dropped my phone down the toilet. Was in my back pocket and was in a rush. It seemed to be working at first, but now it's fucked! Picking a new spare phone up on my way to watch footy in a minute, but means I am going to have to go and upgarde my phone finally, tomorrow.

So on that note - i'm going for the iphone.

It's a good job i'm in a good mood today - i tell ya!

(for now anyway:laugh: )

Have the Motorola Razr. Cheapest as it was free with a plan, but is built nice. Only issue that I've ever seen with them is that the front screen is very fragile, so have a case for it and no problems as of yet... and I've already dropped it a few times.

Good brands ae Motorola and Sony-Ericsson.... LG is crap, stay away from them.

Well if you received calls on a regular basis, it would have only lasted 6 months:evil4:

Strange that - I dropped mine in a river last week... Well I dropped myself in a river, phone in pocket... :banghead: Totally knackered... :nonono: So don't bother calling... Not that anyone ever does... Apart from Jeff, well at least the heavy breathing sounds like him... :evil4: The only good news was that my baccy was still dry as a bone, papers and all...

Two of me mates got the n95's when they first came out. At last count they'd had 16 replacements between them,so n95's = SHITE!

I stook with the old trusty sony ericcson K810i,had trouble free use till last week then the navigation key wouldnae scroll to the right, new onr comes tomorrow.

Bullet proof fone tho, unless you drop em down the lavvy which i did on new years eve, took a day to dry out but still worked fine.

Nokia n96 with 16 gig of mem out soon but still like a brick!

All about the designs, options, choices you want. Using a Sony Ericsson for the last couple years. Decent. The Pink Blackberrys are :skeptic: a Laugh.

Although regionally useless, as not sure what's available. FIDO.ca.. Samsung's JACK. MIKE. Phones are a rage through the City esp. easy if your hands are cold.

Jarvis. T' Chems. Clown is crazy. Great.

i have a RAZR, as well. it's a good phone and it doesn't have too many bells and whistles on it (that i know), which i don't need. it's a bit hard to navigate the keypad, and i sometimes dial the wrong number as a result, but as i almost never text it's not that big of a deal.

if you have a few dollars to spend, there's always this one.

No problems with my LG's either, the one I had before I bought an EnV last December lasted me 4 years.

The EnV's all right, worst thing about it is the tinny sound for music, but then I don't first grab my phone when I want to listen to music either.

Don't play games on it either, nor have I tried to use the VCast for television highlights either. I generally only use the web feature on fall Saturday's to check out the sports scores from around the world, most of 'em are too important to wait until my two-hour drive back home is done.

Currently have the Moto Razr v3m, never had an issue w/ it, will be 2 years w/ it this May.

I REALLY love this phone, but only being offered for AT&T (CRAP network) is a no-no :nonono:

But THIS...this I could live with.

great thread. Ive given up trying to figure out what phone i want next. after looking at whats on the market i realise its all a headache. Ill stick with my sony ericsson w810i for another year and get a virgin sim card, pay £10 a month, and get reimbursed £10 a month. total outlay for 6 months...... £0.

I dont want some flash thing that costs £20 more tarrif per month, only to be out of date in 6 months.

anyone else notice how its all 18 month contracts now?

I had one of these in the early 90's. That bad boy would survive drops from a 6' ladder.

I'm currently rocking the Blackberry Curve.

Just picked up a Vodaphone Blackberry which is pretty handy. Can pick up e-mails, facebook, internet etc.

Will give you a demo Al next time I see you.

I have recently upgraded from a w850i, taken over like 800 piccies over one year, now I have a w890i, only for one month, and I have taken 100 pictures, excellent quality pictures

But the problem with the w890i compared to the w850i, it is a whole lot slimmer than the w850i, there for the buttons are a bit fiddly to deal with
