Its Back to Mine, im guessing the theme is what records you'd play someone if you took them home...
Well, this was a CD, but it'd work as well as a tape, I did for someone recently...

- NO - Age Of Consent
- Aphex Twin - 4
- The Clientele - (I Want You) More Than Ever
- The Durutti COlumn - Fidelity
- Interpol - Obstacle 1
- The Field Mice - Missing The Moon
- Therapy? - Lunacy Booth
- The Postal Service - The District Sleeps Alone Tonight
- Rilo Kiley - Portions For Foxes
- Cody - Holding Pattern
- Portishead - Only You
- Half Man Half Biscuit - Bottle Neck At Capel Curig
- The Charlatans - White Shirt
- Section XXV - Inspiration

I started to right the post, then got distracted, was going to cancel it then posted it anyway in error.
So I am sorry that my normal standards of clarity, completeness and good spelling were not observed.
But yes, it's a cd which means about 15 tracks. Music that you like, that you think that others would like or that you might just play to get unwanted visitors to piss off.
Only one track by each artist is the only rule.
My first attempt looked like this, but I'm not happy with it:
- Another Boy Drowning - The The
- Nothing Compares to U - Prince
- Come Up and See Me (Make Me Smile) - Duran Duran
- Telephone and Rubber Band - Penguin Cafe Orchestra
- The Dream's Lost on Me - Blondie
- Delia - Bob Dylan
- Get The Message - Electronic
- Open Up - Leftfield
- Voodoo Ray - A Guy Called Gerald
- Sister Siam - The Whip
- Missed the Boat - Modest Mouse
- 2129 - Alabama 3
- Stay Young - Oasis
- Turn - New Order
- Margaritaville - Jimmy Buffett

I'd have a version of Won't Wait That Long that James did on Key 103 about 20 years ago. Absolutely loved that song and they ruined it by slowing it down for the album they eventually released it on.
I'd love someone to show me the chords for it. It's a great guitar sound.
Anyone fancy the challenge of working out the chords? I've got it on MP3 so could send it over MSN.
It would make my life better if I could play that song. Definitely ![]()

we could just rebel. how's he going to stop us? i might do a second myself - and then a THIRD. maybe even a fourth. yeah, that's right. i'm a renegade, compiling outside the law.
Jesus Snorri look what you've started now.
Everyone thinks they can have as many disks as they want now.
It's fucking anarchy.
I'm having a terrible time refining my list.
And that's the point.
You have to limit yourself to 15 tracks and no more than one by each artist.
I drove 150 miles with a hangover today and all I thought about was whether to change my Bob Dylan track.
Biggest Thing on Two Wheels wrote:

Well thats 3 discs ive done, and not one band/musician appears twice, thats 45 different musos ![]()
So what if about 40 of them are shite..
![]()
i reckon i can get more than 15 on a cd. i'm going to squeeze on massive attack and bjork and james (say something though, not sometimes) and then i'm going to actually make it.
and then sit and stroke it.
I tell you what we'll do, let's all ignore the fucking rules and do what the fuck we want, shall we. Actually I'm a bit pissed off with driving on the left, I'm going to start using the middle of the road. At 120 miles an hour. And I'm going to stop paying for things in shops and I'll batter any cats I see to death in the street. Just because I want to. And I'm going to blow out the Olympic flame too.
Fucking morons, the lot of you. Can't follow simple instructions.
15 tracks, one disk, don't repeat the artist. It's so simple and yet seems to be beyond you all.
It's people like you lot that are responsible for the utter decline that will be the ruin of this world.

me too. excellent substitution with the smiffs. inspired by the lovely graham?
Who?
I went to school with someone called Graham Smith. Do I win £40?
I'm surprised at how few of my favourite tracks I actually have to hand on MP3.
I've just been weighing up versions and I reckon the Rank version is the one. The interplay between the guitar and vocals is lovely.
In case anyone was wondering...

That the Morrissey man?
I didn't really speak to him. In fact, I don't think he was very impressed by my antics. Don't blame him either.
What's the bassist called? He's a top bloke.
I've never fondled a quiff in my life. I have noticed that you, on the other hand, have spoken of nothing other than stroking and fondling things.

we have to make our own entertainment in sunny scunny.
'groupie' is an ugly word, bert. i prefer 'enthusiastic fan'.
You going to see them in Ull tomorrow?
I was determined to follow them up to Fraserburgh this morning, then remembered that it was a private party for teenagers.
dunno, i'd forgotten they were playing til your post tonight. i'd like to, but it's pretty short notice for babysittage...

I'll look after your kids while you go and see your band.
I'm only joking. You're welcome on my thread despite your renegade ways.

If so, more is probably best.

you take that back. just playing a bunch of songs in a random order ignores the delicate art of the mix tape compilation; the careful selection of tracks and running order, the loving segue from fade to intro, the mastery of juxtaposition and transition.
times may change, my friend, but some things will never die.
