Was round my wee Cuz's house getting pissed on Friday - started talking music and films and doing the top 5's of stuff, seeing as I'm bored shitless - I'm gonna do a Tabsy (where is he?)

Mate, The Holy Bible will always be in my top 5 albums of all time - when it first came out it just hit me between the eyes like a hammer. So, no surprises then that 3 of my top 5 songs are from that album: Revol, Of walking abortion and Faster. Motorcycle emptiness and Little baby nothing round out the top 5. Just a shame that they lost their edge in later albums - obviously they couldn't go on being as out there as they were - no-one can keep that up and stay mentally healthy in the long run. They still write the odd good song, but overall too many mediocre ones have crept in. At least The Holy Bible will stand forever as a work of purity and desperation.
It's nice to know there are Manics fans here and it's quite easy to make a top 5:
Only a couple of manics things in my collection: one is their remix of Massive Attack's Inertia Creeps, and the other is that song that the Chems have on their DJ mix CD. I did see a stack of US promo copies of Generation Terrorist, or whatever it's called, at a shop earlier this year, but I was in a hurry, so I never listened to 'em.
STAY BEAUTIFUL...on ORIGINAL 12 inch..worth £15-£20. I have the original. Should start playing this again. 4 REAL RM

Have to say I like a few of their records too, though I don't actually have all their albums - apart from The Holy Bible and a bootleg live gig of theirs some mate handed me a few years back (from their "Everything Must Go" period). I only bothered investigating cos Richey and James admitted to being massive Joy Division fans... (notice how the sleeves for the two CD's of "A Design For Life" were deliberately inspired by "Ceremony" and "The Perfect Kiss"!)

On a related matter.......have any of you checked out this brilliant spoof site, produced by a huge fan of theirs, called "LEGO STREET PREACHERS" ? It's very funny - and really clever - basically it just sends up ALL their albums and record sleeves using LEGO TOYS....!! It had rave reviews in all the music papers a few years back and all the fans love it too - the band themselves were reportedly chuffed with it as well!!!

As no-one has mentioned my choice I will, There cover of 'Suicide Is Painless' is my favourite along with 'Motorcycle Emptiness' not a big fan at all though.
