Courteeners - St Jude

Sticking on the manc band theme (see The Whip) another new lp thats well worth a listen.

I actually liked some of their songs.

Love 'em

As Chuck D said "Dont believe the hype".

I personally think the songs are too weak and unforgetable.

But the singer does look like a cross between Liam Oasis and the Doves singer - so there is still hope .

The only thing I know about St Jude is that Catholics place newspaper ads thanking him for when their payers to him are answered. :shakes head:

It's becoming a bit of a cliche isnt it? All these boggy cocky Manc bands or what not which all seem to either have singers called Liam or a pair of siblings amongst their personnel. Me? I'm not buying! So there!

i'm just too old to give a shit. went to an indie disco last friday , and it was just like a bad episode of skins. all good looking, trying too hard, soon as that first graduate job kicks in , all traces of "indie lifestyle" die. i blame alexa chung. and that steve jones.

and... the dj was crap. playing mp3's on a laptop with PCDJ, he still couldn't mix properly between "how soon is now" and "don't look back into the sun" useless.
