Who's been?
I'm goin there next Weds for one night only. Never been to Germania before except for a piss in their service stations on route to Czechoslovakia.
Goin to see Bayern v Artmedia Somebodyorother at the Allianz early evening then busy later on but what's to do through the day? Got 10 hours to kill.
Have a stroll through the city centre, there are some amazing buildings. Visit the Hofbrau house - a huge pub in the centre that used to be Hitlers local, there's usually an Oompah band on, so it tends to be quite lively. If you've got 10 hours you could jump on a train to Dachau, the concentration camp. You could also visit the Allianz Arena. I can't remember what else we did, it was so long ago.

Did you actually read my post? All good advice but I'll pass on the conentration camp bit thank you very much. Not my idea of a relaxing day out!

Allianz Arena is amazing. They're so cultured over there - big beer halls inside the stadium and really good grub too. Puts us to shame. The German football fan dresses awfully though - lots of denim and scarves wrapped around wrists. Saw 1860 vs Cologne there this time last year.
There's an 'SS' tour you can do, which takes you around all the sites the SS used. Most are only remembered by tiny black plaques though, as you'd expect. However, there's also a monument to those exterminated by the Nazis in WWII but that's - bizarrely - obscured by a huge tree growing in front of it. Make of that what you will.
There's an amazing amount of really big beer halls too. And treat yourself to a Schweinhackse (pig knuckle) - the Bavarians seem obsessed by the pig!!!
English gardens are alright if the weather's good. There's actually people surfing on the river that runs - rather rapidly - through there. At some point there's a rock formation and local yoot attempt to go back and forth on the waves it forms. Quite impressive to see.
Can't remember the name of the platz which figured so heavily in all the Nazi history? The one where they actually painted buildings on the ground to confuse enemy bombers? That's interesting from the historical perspective - lots of pics up featuring shots of how it used to look as you wander through it.

Was sitting on a bench there one sunny lunchtime when a load of office workers came along, stripped naked and sat and ate their sandwiches on the grass. After half an hour, they put their clothes on and went back to work.
The Hofbrauhaus is tolerable for about 5 mins - better to go to the Paulaner pub accross the square and have the Jahrhundertbier out of a proper stone mug. Nice.

Oh yes the Munich fans we got in Aberdeen were just like that. They'd arrived by bus and were staying just one night before heading off in the morning.

munich is one of my favourite cities. LOTS of beer. one word of advice: if you can't figure out what's on the menu by using rudimentary german, don't order it! i almost ordered a plate of brains once.
i know you don't want to do the concentration camp thing, but dachau is really worth seeing. it puts our own problems into perspective.
if you can take a day trip, go to neuschwanstein castle. it's a beautiful, if bizarre, place.
Brains are delicious. Crispy on the outside, creamy in the middle. 
Check out the Serbian Bar on Paul Heyse St, about five minutes walk frm the station. Great food and Beer.
