Watched it on Youtube again, and is it just me, or would Captain Kirk's cover version of 'Common People' actually be pretty good if only it didn't have Captain Kirk on it? If it had just been Joe Jackson it'd be pretty decent. he seems much more energetic on it than I remember him from his own stuff back in the early 80's.

Suprisingly I like the version of Common People... never heard it before today, so maybe a few more listens and I'll be righted![]()
Oh I guess its just me who winces at Shatner's hammy performance. I mean its a case of 'so bad its good' but I just think minus the ham-miester it could have been good good, as everything else about it is great.
(Also, if only Joe Jackson's first name had been John, he'd be a perfect spoonerism for this Jack Johnson fellow the Americans seem to like.)
Shatner is a god, with a small "g", but a god nonetheless. Makes me laugh in Boston Legal. :D
