Well... If they play around here, the places always grow smaller . Nice to see that they still can fill domes and stadiums in other countries.

all i can think of of Simple Minds now is that hamfisted bombastic bollocks of an album Once Upon A Time. around 85/86 a lad out of our lot who was a bit older and the first to buy a house .it had no furniture , no wallpaper or even plaster on the wall ,nothing.except an expensive as fcuk cd player in the middle of the front room and one cd- once upon a time.he used to hammer it on repeat whenever we went round there to get pissed on his home made wine before going up town.then back to his house for more home made wine at the end of the night and he'd hammer the cd full blast again.

frustrating thing was he did actually own the 7" of Transmission but no record player to play it on.so the simple minds cd was relentless :barf:

Shame really 'cause New Gold Dream and Sparkle In The Rain before that were alright.dunno bout the earlier stuff.

I really like their old stuff a lot, it's fucking bonkers and very much in the same vein as NO. Somewhere though, Jim became a cunt, a whiney, pissy, cause-of-the-day bell-end. Then that fucking Chrissy HOUND woman appeared and SM never made a note since that didn't offend mine ear.

Yeah, Empire and Dance was a great album. How could you forget I Travel?

The last album they did tried to return to that era, but it's still tied down with that Me 2 sound.

This is wonderful news. Depeche Mode released a live album of their best LP Songs Of Faith And Devotion, and the Human League performed Dare live last year, but this is the sort of project that isn't undertaken nearly enough by bands, let alone the media - at least in this country.
