Sounds horrid. Why?
My toenail fell off after I did the Great North Run. Knocked me sick, but was painless. You might be alright. ![]()
Both mine fell off ist time I completed the Manchester Rag BOGLE STROLL (55 mile walk). I always wear toe cushions, heal pads and everything else, but first time I completed it, my toe-nails both came off in the swimming pool!!!
:caddyshack:
Two of my nails are in-growing and have to be removed, and then treated with Phenol acid to prevent re-growth.
Had it done once before. Very painfull, and slow to heal.
i have never had any toenails removed or any drop off, but i have had two children. that was pretty painful. i can only hope you don't have gasandair and a partner saying "hey! you look like frank!"
best of british.
Boy in my works going in today to get this done as well,
he'd been walking last week looking like he'd shit himself,
Best of luck ![]()
Lost My big toenail when I went on my first date with my wife. That night I wanted to drink, and my roommate didn't. I was chasing him around the barracks with an open beer trying to get him to drink, when we were at an empasse. We were pulling opposite sides of a door at full strength. My roommate let go and the door flung open. My foot went under the door, my big toenail didn't. My immediate reaction was to punch a hole in the wall. Right then my (future) wife called me for the first time. I was talking to her on the phone, while my roommate bent my toenail back down and put on a make shift bandage of a ripped t-shirt and electrical tape. Needless to say I wasn't all that talkative over the phone. We agreed to meet, and she brought her dog... the damn dog kept trampling all over my toe that night... but on a first date you can't yellat the girl's dog....
The next day I went to the Naval hospital to get it removed. The corpsman came out with a mickey mouse style syringe. Literally it was an 1 inch in diameter, 4 inches thick of fluid... that glowed a neon green! I already hate needles, so the sight of this scared the crap out of me. I asked, "how much of that are you using?" answered "all of it" my reply, "you're kidding, that fluid is twice the size of my toe!"... I readily refused the painkiller. Became a big deal in the hospital, that they were going to remove a nail from the root without painkiller, but after arguing with the hospital director, it was finally ok'ed. They were short handed that day, so I agreed to help out. I pulled my nail with pliers, while the corpsman dug around with a scalpal cutting the nail at the root. That really was painful.... funny thing, two female Marines were on waiting to be seen on either side of me and knowing I refused painkiller, one was screaming her head off at the sight and the other fainted and fell off the patient bed hitting her head on the floor pretty hard.![]()

Dont tell me your going to get it butchered by the NHS? go to a chiropodist or a foot specialist, they know how to get rid of the ingrowing toenails without the need to butcher them
It's been fucking agony. It took the butchers 50 mins just to get the toes to go numb.
Had to walk out of the place on my heels wearing a pair of sandals,I must have looked like a right div.
Anyway, both toes are now bloody infected so i'm taking something called fluloxaccillin. Whatever that might be !!!
Apart from that i'm having a great time.![]()
