I was disappointed this isnt about Lord Snowdon and his shagging/royal lovechild exploits...

Or Princess Margaret being a right old tart.

The Original video...

Easily my favorite song on that album. Doves Rule!

Grant,

wherever you are, you have let me down.

It is a quality song. One of my favourite Doves songs, not as good as Black and White town though.

Still no word of an album or a tour, or even an updated website. :nonono:

Don't recall starting this thread

Aye it has to be a first for Grant not to be posting at 3.54 am on a Sunday after a night on the piss:lol:

Was just looking for that performance Doves did on some Channel 4 show back in 2002 when they did a cover of The Smiths' Please Please Let Me Get What I Want This Time.Top version twas:nod: Got it on video somewhere but buggered if i can find it.Surprised it's not on YouTube.

I've got Some Cities on again today. An absolute classic album.

I have never listened to it properly. The anger I felt at every track not being as good as Black and White Town ruined it for me.

Perhaps I should give it another chance.

Well, it does have Snowden, Walk in Fire, Almost Forgot Myself, Someday Soon, One of These Days... all great great songs.

Thinking about it, its probably my favourite album by a Manchester band.

Aye i view Some Cities as my favourite album of theirs now.Wasn't so sure when it came out but its been getting heavy play here lately.Haven't played Lost Souls or Last Broadcast in donkeys.

Dug out the 69 Corp mix of Almost Forgot Myself the other night.Great version. On one of the Snowden CDs

I like Black And White Town but i don't like it being on the album.Somehow it doesn't fit with the other tracks for me.Walk In Fire , One Of These Days, Someday Soon and Ambition surpass it.

Great album. Not as good as "Last Broadcast" though but then hardly anything released in the last 30 years is.

Ex NOOL regular Muffy lent me Lost Souls on the back of getting into Last Broadcast. Listened to it two or three times and wrote it off as ahite. Revisited it about two years later and it finally made sense. An outstanding record. Marginally better than Some Cities but not quite as good as LB.

Three bona fide classics though.
