I was in a guitar shop on Friday and spotted some stuff called Fast Fret. I asked the bloke what it was and he basically quoted what it said on the container. I asked him whether it was any good and he shrugged in that way that guys in guitar shops do. I bought some and he didn't snigger at me in that other way that guys in the guitar shops do so I reckoned it was safe to try on my Eko.

I really like it. It does just what it says on the tub.

Works well on a bass, cleans the piles of rotting bassplayer out from between the windings and allows them to move right again, new strings every time :D

Not sure how well it'll work on unwound strings.

First impressions are that it's easier on the fingers and all sorts of crap has come off onto the cloth. Sliding around the strings is far easier - I keep ending up a couple of frets higher than I intended to be!

The strings are brand new anyway, so there's nothing decaying on them thankyouverymuch. The fretboard must have bits of me aged 19. I wonder if I could clone my younger self and go back to having hair and a six-pack?

It doesn't say anything about that on the tin.

Pricey!

Peg dope? Just grease or do they use wooden pegs and this is an anti shriveling agent? (sorry, although I do play a member of the violin family (the electric bass is a contrabass in the shape of a guitar, not a bigger deeper guitar), My knowledge ends at rosin......mainly because it fucks electric bass strings, as you find out any time you feel like being a smartcunt and bow yer bass)
