First, Kimbos not a real fighter. He's basically a bar fighter who got big becuase of some videos on you tube. Put him in there against the top UFC heavyweights or light heavyweights like Nogeura, Randy Couture, Chuck Liddell, Frank Mir, Wanderlei Silva, and even Brock Lesnar, or evena middlewieght like Anderson Silva and he's be HUMBLED.
This James Thompson guy. Fuck me, Cage Rage is a joke. And this guy has a record of 16-9. He was put in there so Kimbo would humble him. it didnt happen. because Kimbo isnt as good as people think. If he was ANY good, he'd be in UFC, because they are so short on decent heavyweights its ridiculous.
Elite XC, overall, sucks. its poor when compared even to WEC. Their main atteactions are Kimbo Slice (see above) and Rico Rodriguez, who is past it. My friend Bryan says UFC has some competetion because of the success of the show on CBS, i think its just MMA's version of the XFL and its all downhill from here quite rapidly.
Oh, and it was never a stoppage. Kimbo was very lucky. But if if you want to see someone take some really brutal shots, check out BJ Penn v Joe Stevenson, or Wanderlei Silva v Keith Jardine.
Is it possible to sound grown up when talking about any of these new breeds of fighting?
Blokes sound like MEN when they talk about proper ficking like boxing, wedding-day punch-ups or football hooliganism.
As soon as anyone even thinks about cage fighting or the WWF, they become an overexcited pre-teen, use mid-Atlantic phrases like 'humbled him' and start dribbling onto their Hulk Hogan pencil cases.

Regardless if these guys aren't up to UFC level, its a good damn fight. The moves both of those guys broke out of was impressive... nothing is more fun that watching two guys go at it that are about equal... I don't care if a schoolyard brawl, they don't have to be world-class fighters to have a good fight....

Well Rogan supposedely holds a brown belt in jujitsu... have to fight a couple times to get that...
I'm not asking if you ever fought UFC tournaments... i'm asking if you've ever been in a fight... something that's lasted 5 minutes or more of fists flying? Something that you came out of with a broken nose and some blood...

Actually it has alot to do with the thread. The guys that go off on fighting events and critique them so much are usually guys that have never been in a real fight in their life. Somehow they're the experts though they've never done it in thier life... I wanted to ask, as I don't like to assume... thanks for releasing all doubt.

As a PAYING customer of the station which showed the Elite XC over here, of course I have fucking right to critique any aspect of the product I want.
And even if i wasnt, its called freedom of speech.
I've also never played Professional football, but I can tell you that Man United would beat Stockport County, and that the standard of football in the Champions League final is a lot better than it would be in the Johnsons Paint final.
