THE POLICE

Just got back from M.E.N. Arena,got to be one of the best gigs I've ever seen.Bit gutted I was up in the clouds,but at least I was front tier,to right of stage.All the singles were there,even the one that I was never mad on ,WRAPPED AROUND YOUR FINGER, was amazing,in no doubt helped by Stu Copeland's drumming skills. All of them were well on form,opening with BRING ON THE NIGHT.I'll try and get my phone video on YOUTube,though Sting might be the size of an ant.

Went last night. Was supposed to be up in the gods but ended up in the VIP seats.

i thought it was very very good. Bit light on the later stuff, which I prefer, Secret Journey, Tea in the Sahara, Synchroncity, Once Upon a Daydream etc but thought the version of Wrapped Around Your Finger was worth the admission price alone. I enjoyed the version of Driven to tears, Every Little Thing She Does is Magic, King of Pain, When the World is Running Down, Bring on the Night, Message in a Bottle all of it really. Apart from So Lonely and Next to You, which I could have done without.

Interesting oen because most of the crowd only wanted greatest hits, whereas the band at times wanted to be a free flowing, new wave band. Musically, you can see how great the group are. As I said in the pub after, "Andy summers is a legendary guitar player, Stewart Copeland is an amazing drummer, and Sting is a bass player"

Double thumbs up from me though, despite the singer. I was just happy to see who I consider the best guitar player of all time live.

Alright Paul! Didn't realise you were in same tier! I don't know,I've always liked BREATH....much better than that GANGSTA monstrosity that came out a few years ago.

Hmmm, they are coming to play in some place out in the middle of the desert that I never, ever go to, because it's so far away. Them and that Elvis Custard fellow.

Wonder if I should go make that Sting lad any richer?

i can;t stand Sting but The Police did donate a couple millions to NYC for planting trees. Good for them but i think it could of been put to better use.
