A little tiny chippy in the centre of Ottley, near a church.
"bits", a fucking cultural revolution and/or revelation to a boghopper like me.
But, in general.......
Any fish and chips obtained returning from a summer evening's fishing in a boat. The warm land breeze, the scent of land, the chips, they're all a powerful cocktail, the nose has smelt fuck all but sea (and if you're lucky, mackerel shite) for 5 hours. Add to that, a chill that's JUST reached your bones, slowly thawing from without cos of the land breeze and warm concrete, and within cos of the chips.
Works on the way back from the pier/rocks too of course, but the boat sets you up for it better.
