Thinking about this today. From memory came up with:

Amstrad/Acorn/Commodore 64 with the enormous floppy disks early walkmans really primitive VCR's big mobile shell/nylon suits Nova/205/sierra/boxy volvos early microwaves Game Boy, 89 maybe

Even more stupid, was when the button phone came out and you could keep it on the rotary sound, for all those not wanting to be too advanced...

I remember checking into a communist-era hotel in Czechoslovakia in the early 90's and getting all excited cos I thought the room had been equipped with a VCR. On closer inspection I realised it was actually the biggest clock-radio I had ever seen in my life.
