I was really late for work this morning.

This converastion ensued when I arrived.

  • You're late
  • Yes, quite
  • Heavy night?
  • Not really
  • Is your back still hurting?
  • A little
  • Did you oversleep?
  • No I was up at the normal time
  • Why are you late then?
  • I was playing guitar in my underpants

Has anyone else been late this week? What was YOUR excuse?

I'm a lecturer in art college - I'm always late. I don't really need an excuse.... :D:evil4:

I am 10 mins late everyday. Today I was 30 mins late and that was because "my bicycle got a puncture en route and I had to wheel it home and make my way to the station on foot..." sometimes the only creative part of my day is coming up with new excuses (especially ones that rhyme).

Route rhymes with foot?

Some years back, my roommate had just got back from a deployment to Korea, and hadn't had a beer in a month. So he drank heavily that night. I went to sleep. When he tried to sleep, he thought my alarm clock was too bright, so he did the nice thing in unplugging it. That morning the whole company was going to the field. So my being an hour late made 200 Marines waiting around on me... needless to say I was in deep shite...
