The Dark Knight

Took Miss Hac to see this last night, best Batman film so far, well well worth going to see it.

Going to see it tonight with Miss recycle

going on saturday with some mates. looks good.

going to see it with my Patricja this weekend.

Looknig forward to seeing this. Will probably wait for DVD to come out though as I can't stand going to the cinema.

It's great! Easily one of the best comic book movies made, though that's not saying much--but this one isn't your typical Hollywood cookie-cutter comic movie like, well, practically every single one that's come in the last decade (or ever). This is Batman-as-existential-crisis for the post-9/11 era, stupid as I sound for saying that (but see it first, then tell me I'm totally wrong). Darkest one yet by far. As you've surely already heard, Ledger steals the show every time he's onscreen. I'm not usually much for action movies, but this one is well worth seeing.

Saw it last weekend and thought it was fantastic. Ledger's performance as the Joker is amazingly twisted. My only complaint is that it seemed a bit long.

Can't wait! Gonna see it next week at IMAX. Isn't the BATMOBILE just the coolest vehicle ever? I want to have a road race in it,racing Jeremy Clarkson from one end of the country to another,only I can take shortcuts...erm..over other cars!

i didn't say that, now did i? more about post-9/11 ethics than fears. could make for an ugly allegorical reading, with Batman as a Bush/Cheney-esque crusader, but that would be forcing things.

Just take your unjustified pre-9/11 fears and project them all over memories of over-mediated terror disasters. For example, instead of imagining God striking you down for masturbating, imagine a hijacked airplane crashing into your penis.

Although i did have some PRE 9/11 fears, funnily enough.I bought my house on 5/11 - the Friday before 9/11.Which aroused a teensy weensy bit of fear with it being my first house and everything.

I thought Dark Knight was great and agree the the terminator film is likey to be SHITE!

Will still give it a watch though.

Dark Knight = Pisses over all previous films (including 1989's Batman & 2005's Batman Begins.

Blimey... He didn't sound Welsh in "Empire Of The Sun"... :p

Quite good for a big budget movie. Might not want to watch it 10 times, but its a very good at what it tries to do.

And doesn't rely on absurd CGI action scenes to carry the story like almost every recent action movie, doesn't end with an absurd CGI explosion, and the story actually tries to make sense in it's own universe.

Seems like most Hollywood movies have really taken the attitude that half the audience is smart enough to follow the story and don't need the movie to patronize them "to connect the dots" of the stupid story, while the other half of the audience are so damn stupid they can't understand what is going on anyway so why bother wasting time. So movies keep going faster and faster.

In civilised nations, Johnny, 9/11 is in November, as is 5/11.

The Americans, bless them, put the month first so they would understand your post to mean that you bought your house on the 11th of May, which is several months before September 11th, the date of the New York mishap. Your post will be confusing to Americans.

T2 is a masterpiece of everything you want in an action movie, special effects are outstanding and still put most modern CGI to shame, the Action is good, again puts most films since to shame, T2 is a benchmark in action/sci-fi that not many films since have beaten.

Although my view is based completely on the directors cut which is far better than the theatrical cut and makes more sense.

tried to see this the other day, but second born decided at the last minute it would be too frightening. he then had to sit next to his mother singing along to mama mia instead. i don't think he thought it through properly.

Had the right amount of sleeping pills... followed the directions, but the sleeping pills were so strong that he suffocated in his own pillow...

My goodness why on earth did i put 5/11 ? As you said Colin that would read May 11th to those kerazy Americans and, the correct way, 5th November to us civil Brits.Neither of which was the date i bought the house.So to clarify and confirm, i bought the house on 5th September 2001

It's got great, groundbreaking (at the time) special effects, I'll grant you, but the plot was nothing great. Just the same old time travel paradox BS I've seen a million times beofre. In terms of the story, T1 was better.

Caught a show early Last week. Likely going to catch it in !IMAX later this week..

can't wait. Refuse to see Films during the day and as it's 2 1/2 hrs. the 10p show gets you back out into the City close to 1a which is a kick.

I always thought a New Order song would be a great selection to go on a Batman soundtrack, something original. When I was in film school, in marketing class, I designed a poster for the Dark Night (from the Frank Miller graphic novel) and listed them as "music by new order". By the way this was before the first movie came out around '86 or '87 somewhere between Brotherhood and Lowlife.

The new Terminator film looks great from the trailor. If you dont think so, then youre probably not really a fan of that franchise.

The new batmobile looks great apart from the front 2 wheels which just kinda stick out and look silly.

I might have to take back everything I said about McG and the Charlies Angels,this looks shit-hot!

Outstanding movie. Have seen it two times, and I'm seriously considering giving it a third go. Perhaps the best ever Batman movie, even better than Batman Returns (1992), my favourite one so far.

Make no mistake, this film is really dark at some points. I won't spoil anything, but it's certainly very detached from the typical "super hero" thing. It has some heavy 70s police movie feel like The French Connection & others.

Brilliant stuff, for once the hype has been justified.If not surpassed.

Best Comic Book film since X-Men 2 for me.

I really liked it, didn't think it was too long at all, and the performances were fabulous. Maggie G. is a million times better Rachel than Katie "Dead Fish" Holmes. However, it could have used a lot more Batman and a wee bit less Joker.

I put X-men 2 leaps and bounds above Batman begins, and the Dark knight is just better,

Just came back from the theater. If you haven't seen it yet, this is one to go see. I go to theaters about once every two years and usually come back happy... but this movie was simply amazing. I haven't seen Hollywood put out a decent movie, without being able to think, "well, that's Hollywood for you." This truely is a movie that surpasses anything in the last (at least) 10 years.

A couple beefs with it -Wish it told a bit more about the build up of Gotham after 'Begins". -The James Bond/Q moment in the movie was a bit cheesy -Did anyone else have problems hearing the last thing Gordan said to his son? The music drowned out everything he said... kinda sounded like a bad cell phone call.

I can't say enough about Ledger's performance... I think he blew every actor in Hollywood out of the water with that... a shame he died, don't know how anyone can meet that performance in a sequel.
