Same can't be said for the Balti pie they serve at Valley Parade. That fucker glows in the dark
Butter Pies are the best. Difficult to buy outside of the historic boundaries of Lancashire, and sometimes they are only available on Fridays Greenhailghs sell them though every day of the week.
Best pies have to be Pieminister at festivals (think they're starting to serve them in Vox Pop Music (Mr Scruff's record shop in the Northern Quarter?)...
Quality pie, mash, gravy and a sprinkling of cheese (if you want) - just what the doctor ordered at festivals! ![]()

For a Northerner London is like a pie wasteland!...I know of only two places to get potato pies..one in Wandsworth and another up Clerkenwell. Surprisingly the best steak pie I've had at footy was a pukka pie at Millwall..big, with lean steak and gravy.
So this is not the place to talk about the lovely pecan pie that I had after Sunday dinner today?

Cheese and Gravy do not go.
I have chips, cheese and gravy every Tuesday for Lunch. I was disgusted by the thought but my colleague made me try some.

Oh, I dunno, I remember being with a Norvern mate in a chippy near Russell Square many, many years ago. He'd just moved down here and we were on a five-week induction (I kid you not!) course into our old company.
He asked the chip-shop bloke for just "Pie and Chips!"
When asked "what sort of pie" he didn't know you could get more than one kind! ![]()
(Can't remember what sorta pie he was expecting, mind).
Anyone ever shopped in Harrods Food Hall? I could spend all day in there. It's amazing. You can get some quality game pies in there. Sorta thing you don't usually rustle up at home!
Oh, and as for people making football references, has anyone been to Naaarich? Where Delia has her 'Pie of the Week'? I can't remember what it was last time I was there. Summat simple like cheese & onion, I think? Was admittedly dead nice though.
Upex-Steak and Gravy..sadly they don't exist anymore,after a buyout from Newboulds..
Hairy pies are still going strong though, and they are the best IMO...Not too hairy like a Russian shot-putter or anything tho.
There is a three chain SHOP in CHORLEY that does great CHEESE/POT/ONION pies.....i don't know what the shops are called.....i just follow the smell.Put they play HAVOC with ones ' waisteline.![]()

Yep the pies at Norwich are good old Hollands pies...as for Delia..She does like her "Gin n Onion" pies!
Homemade Steak & Ale Pie - gotta be Guinness though with a dash
of red wine!
Best Steak.
And red wine vinegar.
And bouquet garni.
And brown sugar.
And a dash of Worcestershire Sauce.
Plenty of black pepper.
And secret ingredients ![]()
And pastry.....obviously.
And 2 days at the gym.
