MANCHESTER, England (Reuters) - Former French international Laurent Blanc has signed a new one-year contract with Manchester United, the premier league club has announced.

The defender spent 10 months at United last season after agreeing to a similar 12-month deal and was offered a new contract before the summer.

Blanc, 36, asked for time to think over his future and has now agreed terms on a further one-year spell at Old Trafford.

"We are delighted, Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson said.

"It has simply been a matter of agreeing with his agents and waiting for Laurent to return from the World Cup."

Blanc has played 45 games for United at the heart of their defence.

"I'm very happy and can't wait for the news season to start," Blanc said.

okay...I'll take that to mean that Mick is a fan of the Red Devils...Kez must be a City fan...and Arsene, you must just be a smart ass, much like myself!

Have you noticed that for anyone who lists their location as Manchester, whenever they post something it says "Manchester, United" in the box on the left?

And Jeff, I don't care either. I still haven't forgiven them for the 83 Cup Final.....

no...I had never, ever noticed, that all those Mancs were United fans...but looking through the list here, you would be correct!!!
