I was a bit miffed at missing Mudhoneys recent London gig celebrating 20th anniversary of Subpop. So I tried to find a DVD of early shows with no joy. I did however find Superfuzzbigmuff had been re-released with extra tracks and live performance CD. Just got it this morning and it's superb, even down to the crap they'd come out with between songs. "we're Mudhoney, how y'all doin?" at every opportunity.

Apart from having the best title, this must be one of the best EP's ever released, even though strictly speaking it's no longer and EP. At about £8 a bargain

Just for the youngsters who weren't gigging before 1990 ...

I still wish that I'd overcome the cold that I had at the time and saw Mudhoney, Tad, and Nirvana back in 88 (or was it 89)? Nirvana were third on the bill, btw...

I think it was '89, remeber being pissed off being unable to get to it and then pissed off meeting someone who had. Also remember seeing Tad stage diving at Newcastle, inexplicably everyone moved out of the way. Even more inexplicable,he appeared unharmed.

Saw Mudhoney quite a bit in the New Order 89-93 hiatus and still think they were the best of that genre.

I have the Nirvana "live album" "From The Muddy Banks of The Wishkah" and they have a track from a Dec. 5, 1989 show in London.

JT - i saw them nirvana/tad gigs down melbourne road riverside, good days, remember sonic youth & green on red but carn't remember if i saw mudhoney. Shit yeh.. just remembered also saw dinosaur junior, butthole surfers and fugazi n conflict many times.. happy times :crazy:

Great stuff, obviously they played a lot of times in this area and were never a disappointment. I've kept hold of a gig poster from November 88, on Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation tour, with Screaming Trees and Mudhoney as openers, one of the best shows I've ever seen.
