COULDN'T CUT THE MUSTARD.....
thing with hairdresers is i'll get a great cut form a cute Irish girl who really takes her time and is genuinely interested in giving a good cut.then of course you think "i'll go back to that place again she was great at cutting my hair last time".then when you back there 6 weeks later you get some mardy arsey bitch who wants to get the job done in 3 minutes so she can carry on her interupted chat with her visiting boyfriend.
Told a hairdresser once that I wanted my hair longer in front and tapered in the back when I was stationed in Japan... somehow I ended up with a 3 inch long horse shoe about 1/8 inch wide and in the middle (the top of my head) had 1/4" tall hair! Needless to say I didn't pay for it, though the japanese lady was furious... ever since then i've cut my own hair... pretty good at it to, takes awhile to get used to movements in double mirrors... much cheaper and no one to blame if I screw up my hair than myself![]()

6 weeks between cuts?
Fuck, I go every other Friday!

You're supposed to ask for the cute Irish girl's card so you can make your next appointment with her. Don't forget to tip her...

i'm really tempted to let my hairdresser give me one, just to shut him up.
my current favoured approach is to find myself bored at about midnight and, having scissors to hand, have a little go myself. it certainly adds a frisson to the evening.
incidentally, at school 'bob' was another word for a 'poo', but this appears to have been localised to scunny. anyone else ever heard of that?
All I can say is that I am anxious to go to the hairdresser since ours is retired. When I say ours, it means that he was an apprentice when my grandfather was still alive, back in the fifties, sixties. He was, I try to use the word, a top-notch hairdresser. He was able - being a man hairdresser/barber, to do anything with his tools, from a 1950 gangster's cut to Nina Hagen's one (some women used to go by them) for less than 10€...
But the highlight of my life with hairdressers was in Slovakia. It was a ladies salon, but the hairdresser cut my hair after her service. The room was empty and it was hot as in Serge Gainsbourg's chez Max coiffeur pour homme.
"Je tombe sur cette chienneShampouineuseQui aussitôt m'aveugle par sa beauté païenneEt ses mains savonneusesElle se penche et voilà ses doudounesComme deux rahat-loukoumsA la rose qui rebondissent sur ma nuque boum boum [...] Puis sous le sirocco du séchoirDans mes cheveuxLa petite garce laisse choir"Je veux"."
Blimey! It only happens once in a lifetime...
i had my eyebrows done yesterday. the lady was quiet. shit hurt. i have natalie portman sorta eyebrows now.
I just ask my buddy David [who's an awesome stylist] to "trim and layer it."
He does an ace job every time, and with plenty conversation to spare.
I tell him he's my 'Hairdresser on fire.'
*cue burt with a bad joke, any moment now...*
I was yesterday. The cheapest in recent years was last year in Bruxelles: 5 € for a dry cut.
invest in a nice set of clippers and give yourself a buzz cut. saves money. yes, i cut my own hair.

but you look like a muppet...
Just pop down to Pasarinis in town Grant...........short back n sides for a fiver........no chit chat bollox.....however its like like being a sheep waiting to be sheared when you're sat in the waiting room and then he shouts "NEXT PLEASE!!"..........in fact it probably hasn't changed at all since you last went in '83..........and as my mate once put it "they can only do one haircut there, the Blackburn cut".....![]()
