Yup my favorite comic is finally attracting serious Hollywood attention.

A film is being developed by ummmmm RUSSELL CROWE????

Brilliant actor but I just don't see it....

Hmmm, I'm not sure who could portray Bill Hicks, but Russell Crowe??

Can't ever see this being a successful movie. It's one of those things where you should say the man was funny, and not try to replicate.

They'll be doing a biopic of Tommy Cooper next.:nonono:

You think so? Just like that?

Just read a Wikipedia entry on him, and he'd make a great biopic subject. Sadly, he's unplayable, I suspect.

And someone is planning to do such a thing.:nonono:

unplayable? Most likely-yes. Bill Hicks was an original. He was not a robot and never compromised. Hicks was complex and controversial.

Bill pushed all the buttons

Sex? yes Drugs? You betcha Religion? uh huh Sexuality? Sure Politics? a lot of fun

His swagger was he was that good. Comedians are funny. But few are engaged. They have a point to make like a good preacher. I think I feel I laugh like a catharsis. that was Bill Hicks.

No one can translate that. I don't want to be a robot. Neither did Bill Hicks. He did and was as free as we wish we were.

I am pissed because W Bush would have provided Bill with decades of material.

No movie about Bill Hicks will ever truly get him...
