check out that guy in red sneaking a peek over her shoulder!!!
but Sebs...are you mocking the Turks for their Islamic beliefs???
I'm sure all our Islamic friends and visitors under the age of 18 are well impressed by that, Seb!
i'm sure the turkish lads at school would see the funny side of that one.
so would their dads.

Oh OLD BLUE, I'm sure that our viewers under 18 have been tremendously shocked by this! I'm sure they had never seen a pair of boobs before!
God, what was I thinking...

The point is that yet again you have breached YOUR OWN terms and conditions of what is an acceptable post.

Could you be more explicit ?
What this posting has basically done is belittle Islam, and could be construed as deeply offensive to many people. To even show an uncovered female body in association with representations of Islam is sacriligious, and could carry a fatwa if brought to the attention of the more zealous. Explicit enough ?
Please don't make such a fuss about it! Can't we have a laugh at the expense of muslims (or jews, or black people, or chinese people, or indians, or french people living in England... or even PORTUGUESE)?
NOTHING... I MEAN ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IS "SACRED", MAN!

Not according to the Terms of Use of this site we can't. When the webmaster breaks them though, it seems it is ok.

It's not about having a grudge.
It's about the Webmasters making a big fuss about "community standards" and "respect". It's about valued members of this community being told to leave.
It's about everyone then behaving, APART from one of the "Webmasters". And it stinks.

I have nopthing of the sort. It is a case of double standards though it seems.
Well...that's the quandry I'm in...
I, personally, find the picture amusing, but I do feel that it could be found offensive, so I'm torn between leaving it up and making it go away....
oh dear...indeed, what to do, what to do?

I think you pretty well excplained what it is. This, in french, is called MALHONNÊTETÉ INTELLECTUELLE, and I guess it could be translated by "intellectual dishonesty".
I don't like that.

Mr. Revault, you are a new user here OR THOUGH IT SEEMS because the way you speak give the impression that you have a long grief towards me. Strangely enough, the date you became a member coincides with the date a user named Tim Jauncey/Fred West was banned forever from this site. How strange!!!
Can you explain this?

Listen man, if this is the way you're taking it, then maybe you should leave too. I wouldn't want this place to be unbearable to you.
This place will always welcome a good joke (and if a small group of people find it offensive, well EVEN BETTER! Because if people are stupid enough to be offensed by something like that, then I wish to offense these people). Applying the community standards must be done with a large interpretation, and it is not yours to judge what we want as a website.
I think you have a paranoia. I read the messages posted by other people. You will recall your deletion of a serious thread posted by Mr.Scott that I had also contributed to. Following this I looked out for other examples of double standards, and they do exist.
New users should listen first and speak after.
Over and out.
This being said, I'm sure a few people from Great Britain will find this picture funny as well, but maybe there's a cultural thing that makes us latin people (from France, Portugal, Spain, Québec and South America) a lot more at ease with NUDITY.
You can never please everyone now, can you?
GMB
But surely if you're at ease with nudity then you wouldn't find a big pair of boobies quite so hilarious..... ![]()
okay...
just had my only Muslim friend come over, he looked at it, and laughed his ass off...so it is not insulting...
that's all I need...
thanks to Robleh...

No, I never said I was offended by it. Infact I have yet to see or meet anyone on this forum that I dislike, and that includes you. OK?
You've missed the point of what I'm trying to say.
Let me put it in plain English. Why are you, Sebatien Boisvert, immune from the community standards under which your website operates?
Please do me and the other users the courtesy of giving a straight answer, and at least we'll ALL know where we stand.
I'm saying no more on the subject.
I will answer your question, and the answer is simple. Was it Louis IV who said "L'État, c'est moi" ? Well, basically, that's what it is: the webmasters make the website and do what they want with it. We do not need to justify our actions here. That's that.
I VERY WELL UNDERSTAND how unjust and unfair you may find this -- I know I would -- but tha's what it is at the end of the day. I said it before and I'll say it again: this is not a democracy for christ's sake! People are not voting for their webmasters and for their rules here!
Once this is said, besides the fact that you are very much pissed off at the fact that I showed the door to a certain number of people who might be your friends, which explains your reactions towards me, if you come up with a little objectivity, maybe you will not suggest that I break the community standards of this forum on a daily basis, because, of course, it is far from the truth.
And let it be known: someone who does not comply with the community standards will not get a warning automatically. This happens everyday and we don't make a fuss about it. It's the repetition, day after day, that we're going after. Quite frankly, is someone uses foul language from time to time, it won't hurt my sleep tonight. I've seen much worst in my life.
It's all contextual.
One last thing: if my message would have offended some Muslim people, I wouldn't have apologized and wouldn't have cared, because any intelligent person from this side of the world (I highly doubt that many people from Iran and Pakistan visit this website) would understand that this picture I posted was a wink -- A JOKE -- and there is no way I will surrender my freedom of speech because of a few people who might take this personally and regard this as an offense to their religion.
Besides, being dressed like these women are IS NOT PART OF THE MUSLIM RELIGION. Nowhere does the Coran forces women to dress up like this. It's a cultural thing that was developped in certain fundamentalist countries, the excuse for it IS religion, but it is rather a symbol of the supremacy of men over women in these countries. And THAT, I have no respect for that whatsoever. But if these women o not mind living their lives this way, I respect their choices.
Seeing these two women in the picture watching a football game, considering all this, is somewhat funny for us occidental people.
Oh, I almost forgot: judging from your reaction Old Blue, and from other reactions too (who, once again, seem to be only an excuse to slash me off), it seems to me that FUNDAMENTALISM is not always where you think it is, and that it even exists in the likes of the British people.
