And not before time.

Russia have more or less put the tin lid on glasnost now. Cold War has been redeclared. My money is on a full-blown invasion of Krakow in a couple of weeks, ruining our holiday and plunging the world into a stand-off the likes of which have not been seen since the fag end of the 80s.

So what else will come back?

Terrible bands with crap haircuts doing songs voicing the haplessisity of a life that can end at the push of the button and using this sense of hopelessness to cop off with women, even though you have a shit moustache and a crap suit and a first name that is the same as a particularly pointless type of fly.

Leg warmers.

Really hairy fannies.

Can anyone think of anything else, or have I entirely summarised pre '89 life?

Twix were Raider in Germany and France.

Anyone speaking on his own in the street was a gumby.

Both.At the same time.I hope it has suspension.Did Choppers come with suspension? I can't remember now but i've got a feeling they did.

Did they fuck.

No you're probably right.I'm thinking of that coiled spring type thing under the back seat rest from memory.Made me think it was some sort of suspension gizmo. But was probably just for aesthetic.

That looks nothing like the choppers I remember.

It's got a fucking shopping basket on the back.

You sure that's not the girl's version?

Hopefully we will see the return of black micromesh tights and white stillettos.

Well spotted. That may be the MK2 i've found there.

How about this one

any retro adidas or nike trainers- especially Adidas Manchester.

Don't remember Adidas Manchester.

Johnny, some interweb searching has revealed that the Chopper you posted was a 2004 issue Mark 3. Safety regulations mean the death of the bollock-ripping gearchange (replaced by a sticker with a picture of the old stick) and a non-backie-friendly seat. So they fucked it, basically.

I want a MKII like you posted there.

And a pair of Adidas Manchester

Ah yes i remember something in the news a few years back about the 2004 version and the fact they had to get rid of the bollock ripping gear stick.

Correction - that pic shows a Mk1, with the straight pillar at the back and the two-piece headstock.

You GENIUS!

Those Choppers Johnny posted look more like Chippers, which were the junior version..

I bought a Chopper, which was in bits, for seven quid second hand, when I was about 10yr old..Put it together, and took the Grifters on..Both had 3 gears.Grifters were heavy as fuck.I want one of each, and a Mongoose and a Diamond Back,to do bunny hops an that...Still not arsed about Raliegh Burners.

One man's rubbish is another man's sturdy. They were sturdy as a bastard,Grifters.. Grifters were two-bob fuckpigs next to the Chopper, true enough.

Everyone who had a Grifter wanted to swap with a Chopper.
