generally made from soft malleable woods, so you can bang them in the slot, and because they can snap off in operation. I prefer hornbeam, others prefer apple, cherry or rosewood.

Funny thing about Chesterton windmill is it's only about 15 miles down the Fosse Way from me yet i only became aware of its existence recently

Gonna try and hunt down some more windmills around Warwickshire.They really are this season's sheds

Not a lot going down in Warwickshire, I'm afraid Johnny.

The ones at Upper Tysoe, Napton-on-the-Hill, Norton Lindsey, are in good nick, as is the one at Berkswell (Balsall Heath, Kath).

The rest, at Harbury, Rowington, Burton Dassett, Kineton and Thurlaston are just empty towers.
