This is going to be-- How you say, Tex?-- delicious.

First up, we have conservative columnist Kathleen Parker:

Sarah Palin Must Go

Now, Fareed Zakaria reaches the same conclusion:

Palin is Ready? Please.

And expounds on that conclusion:

McCain's VP Decision is "Fundamentally Irresponsible"

Of course, the McCain campaign can try to continue to shield her from questions for the next 35 days...

I'm assuming from this and other comments, that even by the low standards of merkin politicians, she's not the sharpest knife in the drawer?

It can't juse be cos she's another neo-nazi godtard surely.....wouldn't republican voters leap with joy at that?

EDIT, actually, since she conducts all her official governor's state business through a Yahoo webmail account (that I wouldn't use to sign up to a porn site), she'd probably be better to compare herself against the spoons in the sharpness stakes.

Well the consensus is that she is being overtly coached in her answers and it has stiffled her dramitically. If this is indeed the case, I hope the staff get off of her immediately and let her be herself... as many News corespondents claim she really is good at interviews if she is herself...

...not sure why everyone keeps claiming she's an uber-religious fanatic... not the internet rumours that were debunked weeks ago surely?

Regardless, I think the VP debate this week will be worth the watch (one I would normally skip). Both VP candidates could self-desctruct or completely surprise people (good or bad)... hope the bugs in Palin's interview technique is fixed by then:shrug:

The "bugs" in her interview technique are her complete lack of knowledge about the issues she's discussing...which is why her handlers are (for the most part) preventing her from answering reporters' questions.

Cluefulness != using webmail. And her would-be boss can't even use a PC. What a fabulous pair to be running the most technically advanced nation on Earth (they'll ruin THAT too by slinging out all the foreigners).

She does strike me as knowing more about the fucking damn bible than foreign policy, more psalms than physics. I despair at the human race (and the yanks) that they hand power to these imbeciles.

She didn't support creationism, her statement that has been misrepresented the AP has a nice article on it:

http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gV5jvU52RD3WBflzbmSu5l6zwOqAD92V3VQG0

the funny thing was that AC360 had a part on the show that interviewed the Blogger that put up the numerous misrepresentations. He stated it was a joke he thought a few friends would see, but somehow the whole internet ate it all up...

...funny how the same ones that cried when Obama got it, are now eating it all up now that the tables have turned...

In alaska, she supports the victims paying for the rape kits. One of her glorious budget cuts.

Well her hacked email seems full of references to the sky fairy and asking it for help.

THAT scares the piss out of me, knowing that in times of trouble she'll act based on fairy delusions.

Taking a sound bite and reporting on it kinda changes what she was saying... hear the WHOLE thing. She stating that the crowd should pray for our soldiers and to pray that they are doing God's plan. She did NOT state that Iraq IS God's plan....

Have to agree Woodsie. For some reason when she was answering it sounded rehearsed and a forced thought on her... it didn't sound like her personal feelings on the matter. I hope in this upcoming debate McCain's admin let her be herself...

Hate to tell you there, but God doesnt exist.

Of course, if people think he doe exist, i'd LOVE to know what his plan is. And also, for someone to present the actual evidence for that plan. As well as a method of implementation.

That youtube clip posted above looks like the one I saw in which she was introduced by some guy going on about Alaska being a 'refuge state' for the rest of the US, presumably for when the 'end times' arrive. Cant' face watching it again, but it looks like part of the same event.

Does she believe in that stuff? She didn't say it herself but she didn't disown it either. I suppose many Americans don't mind that sort of thing but I find it alienating to put it mildly. To put it less mildly I find the idea that someone who might believe in that stuff could be in a position of real power to be scary. If you think Armageddon is part of God's plan won't that have an influence on you if you ever have to decide whether to 'push the button'?

If Obama had to disown Jerimiah's comments (some of which seemed perfectly reasonable to me, e.g. that the government lied about Gulf of Tonkin and WMDs, some not reasonable, i.e. that AIDS was invented by the government) surely Palin should be disowning stuff like that also?

Taking a sound bite and reporting on it kinda changes what she was saying... hear the WHOLE thing. She stating that the crowd should pray for our soldiers and to pray that they are doing God's plan. She did NOT state that Iraq IS God's plan..

She SAYS it right there, its a task from God. How can this be a misquote? When it is bluntly stated by the pitbull? STOP making excuses for her.

Sometimes she can really make me cringe... sometimes I watch interviews and silently beg "don't open yer mouth"... last night was one of those moments... Katie Couric asked her what newspapers and magazines she read that influences her on policies,etc...... she answered "all of them". I slapped my forehead:cry:

Context... its called context... and if you notice the post before this doesn't defend her....

I'm sick of hearing people say "she's being coached too much just let Sarah Palin be Sarah Palin"......Sarah Palin was Sarah Palin when she was ordering a cheesesteak and a voter asked her what the US was going to do about Pakistan, and she responded by saying "we're going to attack them!"....When Katie Couric asked her to name one supreme court decision other than Roe v Wade, she couldn't.....That's the real Sarah Palin. While she may be coached to a degree on how to respond to questions, she has shown that she puts her foot in her mouth, spews the same talking points over and over even when they don't make any sense, and is maybe the dumbest politician to ever be a vp nominee. Not being able to name one supreme court decision????? MSNBC was talking last night about how comparing her to Dan Quayle was an insult to Dan Quayle! You give her too much credit by saying that she just needs to be Sarah Palin......she's really just an airhead.

the important portion that is being deleted is "...we must pray that it is..." she is not stating that it actually is

At the risk of defending somebody who is both supremely unqualified for the office she seeks, and deeply alluring to the anti-intellectual elements of American society, she didn't actually say that we are doing God's will (or God's plan, or a task from God, or however it is she phrased it). What she said is that we must pray that what we are doing is God's will.
