I used to like "Thriller" when I first arrived to the States. But with NO/JD, my taste in music has radically changed.

milo (6) and barney (10) watched the chronological out-pouring of michael jackson videos on music4 this weekend. they both then got the dressing up box out and came downstairs jackson'd up. curiously, it lead to barney deciding he wants a guitar for christmas. milo saw the title come up for "michael jackson: in the closet" and after about a minute of rubbish heavy breathing said "dad, why is he singing so quietly on this one? is it because he is in a closet?"

How does a British six-year-old even know what a closet is?

My nearly-six-year-old doesn't. I just asked him then:

Me: What's a closet, Littleinoil? LIO: I don't know. (Thinks for a second). Does it mean a word you don't know?

Gotta love him for trying!

it hadn't occurred to me that... if it's any consolation - yesterday's exchange with his mother proves that he's : a) a normal 6 year-old b) a disturbed child c) both of the above (ie his father's son)...

after tenderly stroking his mother's face for quite a while: "mum, I've been touching my winky with that hand"

hey, what other thread could I write that in without going off-topic? not many

The video scared me stupid while I was a kid. Otherwise, that's probably the only Michael Jackson song I actually like.

Must be a mistake. Surely none of Jacko's thrills are more than ten years old.

Pfff. Top 3 Mickey Thomas:

vs. Walsall (H), 1990-91 vs. Bradford (A), 1990-91 vs. the rozzers after being caught knobbing some lass in the back of his car near Leek, circa 1993.

Early 90s; great years for Mickey T.

I was in Toronto in 2001 and we we were very close to deciding to get a flight to New York for a few days but didn't.But i wasn't aware of your existence then Jonathan. If i'd known you then i'd have been on that plane in a heartbeat.

Thriller was an amazing album.

However, this amazingness is severely overshadowed by the obvious vileness of the man himself, which renders celebration of his work slightly nauseating.
