Interesting. The party that freed blacks from slavery has now turned into the party of scared white folks in the very region they were most despised in.
Funny how things work out.

That article was a worthless piece of partisan-hack crap from a worthless partisan-hack crap "newspaper". It's main thrust was that if you didn't vote for B. Hussein then you are obviously a racist. They even throw out as evidence that John Kerry got twice the European-American vote that B. Hussein did. Well, maybe it's the fact that B. Hussein is twice the liberal hack that even John Kerry is. Maybe it's that John Kerry actually had a platform with at least an outline of how to get it accomplished (jeez, I can't believe I'm actually propping up John-freaking-Kerry). I'm not saying there were not some old time crackers out there who were just not going to vote for a black man. But, there sure as heck were a lot of black folks who voted for B. Hussein because he is black. Funny how the nyt doesn't run an above the fold story on that.

Or maybe its because Republicans haven't reached out to Blacks for a long long time. The party isn't exactly black-friendly. You didn't see blacks rushing to the polls to vote forAl Keyes, Sharpton, and Jesse jackson? Did you?

Come now, its not like all the droves of blacks were well informed and that's why they voted for Obama... granted the Reps haven't reached out for the black vote, and that they voted Dem is no surprise, but it really is two things: 1-his race and 2-his campaign was good at getting unreliables to vote.

I also found it unfair. You don't vote for the color of skin but for political platform, credibility, vision. Black men voted mindlessly for Obama because he was African.
Actually, as anybody who can read must already know, Hillary had the black vote locked up, because (a) black voters overwhelmingly vote Democratic, (b) Hillary was a known quantity from an administration that was viewed as friendly to the black community, and (c) there were doubts within the black community that Obama could win. It was only when Obama began looking like a contender that the black community began shifting to his column.
If that shift was solely due to his race, rather than due to his politics (with the very real prospect of the first black President as an added attraction), why hasn't Alan Keyes been able to lock in the black vote?
cause 'bama makes white people feel all warm and fuzzy about a black guy...
..why haven't blacks been voting for those like Keyes? Because they are one of the most unreliable group of voters to vote for a president... its not only because they voted on racial lines, but because they were herded to the voting booths... but this also bit the Dems in the arse when it came to CA's Prop 8 when 80% of them voted for the measure...
Comrade, I'm not complaining about this... Obama had a well-oiled machine to do this, props to him... but to dismiss that blacks didn't vote mainly on racial lines is ignoring the elephant in the room...
I think we all know that if it was Hillary vs. Keyes, the black vote would've gone to Hillary.
We also know that Obama didn't win because he locked in the black vote, which always votes Democratic-- he won because he got enough white people to vote Democratic.

Thus my first statement there.... he's a Goldilocks black for whities...
He has things going for him to be a good president... I just hope his large initiatives get lost amongst all the immediate crap he needs to do.
