New Order without Hook....
you say that but....
Barney is New Order.
New Order could survive without Hooky.
New Order couldnt survive without Barney.

I went to see FromTheJam in New York about 6 mths ago and they were excellent. Was a risk of it being very corny and like a tribute band (albeit with 2/3rd of the original members in it) but they were very very good.
The singer is good, and with eyes shut is a very passable replacement for Weller
Helped that Hugh Cornwell was supporting and did several Stranglers songs.
All in all I'd say they are definitely worth going to see, and indeed I am at Hammersmith in Dec
that was an entirely superfluous use of the word 'indeed' there David.
Tsk. You join up today and think you own the place.

Dunno, but I think they were using the same computer (or the same person?)! :p
I did like The Stranglers in Barca (minus quite a few members, including Hugh Cornwall) - very entertaining.

I also saw them on their US jaunt back at the beginning of the year (with Hugh opening)............and enjoyed it a lot, I've got to say. The original line up never made it up this way, but it was an excellent crowd that showed up, nice mix of original fans, younger kids who knew about the band, and some ex-pats to see what was going on ( there was someone there from Woking carrying a Woking F.C. scarve around!)
got through my "weller is the jam" block by realizing that there were still some songs that I loved that I wanted to hear live, and that this was probably gonna be my last chance to do so (the "setting sons" era specifically, though "butterfly collector" is my fave).
Oh yeah, once again, Hugh's current bass player is much better looking than J.J., as Santefekuss could attest ![]()

I agree :) Burnel still still takes his top off
I wish Hugh's bass player,Caz, would
