Anybody care for Modern English's first album and EP on 4AD before they did that melty song? It's nicely in that raw post-punk vein and actually quite good. I hadn't heard it before until recently, having misjudged the band by its later sound.

Thought After The Snow was a great album, but seemed enough... not needing any other*...

..have you listened to ATS and if so how does the first compare?

*i did try Pillow Lips sometime back... OMG that was completely horrible, even the remix of Melt w/U was horrid

Personally I prefer Mesh and Lace to After the Snow, also think 16 days was ruined by This Mortal Coil into a dreary dirge.

i have Mesh and Lace and After the Snow....i think after the snow is a better album...i really like This Mortal Coils version of 16 Days,the intros quite haunting...i was shocked when i heard Pillow Lips for the first time,wtf happened?:)
