first serious answer for you, it's not bad, you can get similar if not better sounds from soft synths for a lot less, and the soft synth v hardware synth argument is irrelevant with a keyboard like this, if you want analogue get a real analogue synth, then there's a difference.

overall, nice analogue style sounds and a usable keyboard, better than the yamaha crap that i've got, but i only use it as a master keyboard, i don't use the sounds.

I'm sure analogue purists (cue the doc!) will tell you it is the spawn of satan and should be stoned to death, but in the 21st century, it aint bad, but you'd be better realy with reason, arturia analog factory, native instruments absynth or even the free instruments with cubase, live or logic (but that's apple!)

10 points for knowing there's no point having the softsynth vs hardware arguement, since it IS a softsynth in a box. Not seen it yet, sound like something I'd be entirely uninterested in. I have a Moog, and I have all the soft-modulars Jed mentioned, so I need a 201 like I need a third armpit.

As for it being the devil's work.....well it comes down to whether setting the filter res on the edge of self oscilation and moving the cutoff, produced a smooth, sweeping, thereminesque tone, or a stepping series of crap whistles (JD800 anyone?).

As for Rolands.........I've just watched this one die (in qualifying at Imola in 1994, am just about to watch the race from the next day, and anyone who has any interest in racing knows what that means I'm about to see). (warning, not pleasant, but all the tribute videos I could find had aalling music)

I've seen as much of it as is in the season review video....very VERY nasty indeed. Always shite myself when I see someone on the track. Thing is, I can never understand how that accident happened, it was right at the crest of the hill, there should have been quite a view all the way down to the last corner.
