Amazing how tastes change.I used to love this years ago,but I watched an episode of the 1st series I missed 1st time round.Got that one was shit! Lazy storytelling,an hour spent in guessing that the "apemen" on a distant planet were crew from Moonbase Alpha.
Model work still holds up though.

There are a few decent episodes in series on, a few. Series two is fucking tits in almost it's entirety. I only watched to see the Eagles really. Not one of Gerry's best, and all the more annoying because all the sets etc were actually built for a 2nd series of UFO, which got canned at the very last minute.....because the Yanks didn't like the "Earthy" episodes.....like the one about Straker's kid getting deaded....which is odd as I usually consider that kind of shite to be an American disease......anyway 1999 was contrived in such a way as to make it impossible to set an episode on Earth.....bugger still managed it though 
I agree with the good Doctor.
Series one was great in parts, series two was mostly shite.
Ditching the Prof was a sad move.
Remake anyone? And this time don't finish the story via youtube!!!
