Those are the finest examples of electronic bands covering guitar songs (The Fall included for their feminine electroclash period 1988-94).

My favorite Husker cover is "Eight Miles High" Just that punk wall of noise gets me every time.

Covers sound like a group could have written the song themselves. "All Along The Watchtower" by Hendrix and "I Fought The Law" by The Clash and "Hurt" by Johnny Cash are great examples. It is their song after that-period.

Sometimes covers are re-inventions "like hey-I never thought it could go there!" "Always on my mind" by PSB and "Route 66" by Depeche show that. Other great ones are "Little Wing" by Stevie Ray Vaughan, "California Dreaming" by Eddie Hazel, "Sweet Jane" by Cowboy Junkies and "I Fought The Law" by The Dead Kennedys. "I Fought The Law and I won"? Genius!!

I got to see the PSBs live here in Bonn on their "Battleship Potiempkin" tour, and I really was impressed by the whole thing.
