and i have all of my warranties there, as i bought my computer at the store. i've had problems with them in the past, and another store betterhonour my warranty, otherwise i'm in the shithouse.

good riddance to rubbish, is what I say, made the mistake of buying my first computer there, and the moronic salesman I dealt with that day couldn't remember dealing with me just a week later.

I've bought a couple of things periodically over the years since (depending on prices of course) and the salespeople act usually acted as if they were doing you a favour by answering your questions; that is, when one could be found.

As for the warranty aspect, AW, THIS is what the local talking heads have informed us about the honoring of said warranties. Since I don't have any of those warranties, I can not back up their claims.

I'm surprised they stayed around for this long. Only time I have shopped there was for my daughters DS... she wanted a pink one and everyone was out since it was Christmastime. Figured CC would have one as no one ever shops there... I was right too...

I think Circuit City's idea was to make it hard to actually find items and find a place to check out, so you would wander area the store confused and buy a TV, camera, or computer on impulse. I just got annoyed and never went there.

Less choices thou, less diversity to buy from is the trend.

They had TVs, stereos, computers, cameras, video games, a poor selection of DVDs and CDs... few things well or in depth. The acessories and movies and CDs were an afterthought, poorly organised.

Sux- all those folks out of work. But Agent Wood, I read today that their extended warranties are done thru a 3rd party, so they'll continue to be honored.

I buy electronics at Wal-mart - they never dare to refuse taking their shit back. Very simple.

Nobody I know will go into PC world with me now (not that I set foot there often, but sometimes, you really need a 120mm fan or a molex-PCIE6pin adaptor QUICK), cos I basically get tourettes, loud tourettes. While purchasing my mum's EEEpc (bought locally because she understands "taking it back to the shop" not "RMA requests"), my bro got annoyed with me. I asked why and he said he felt some things I'd said were inappropriate for a large busy store....things like....."here, remember that piece of shit soundcard you got for a tenner two years ago and had to bin? These dickheads are still flogging them for £34.99", or "please tell me that's not a fairly crappily made 3m network cable with a sticker saying £14.99.....oh good fuck, it's a SALE price" etc etc etc etc.

Anyway...........isn't this like JACKPOT for you? shouldn't there be some laptastic deals?

The key is to purchase electronics that DON'T need to be taken back... that would require purchasing items outside of Walmart
