I dont think enough is done for the victims of crime,especialy here in the U.K.

Burglary is a horrible thing to experience,it takes a long time for the hnomeowner to get over. Admittedly there is help by way of counselling from the victim support service,but counselling doesn't stop the victim feeling unsafe/uneasy in his or her home.

The burglars get a slap on the wrists,while the homeowner,in some cases,has to move home and again,in some cases never recovers from the intrusion into their home.

Having being burgled myself 10 years ago,it was one of the worst experiences of my life.

Not so much the items that had been taken,i was insured and the items were easily replaced.

It was more the intrusion aspect that disturbed me,knowing that someone else had been in my home uninvited,AND while i was asleep,tok me a long time to get over.

The sad thing is that we can put a price on everything in life,including life itself.
