HST The Kitchen Readings

Read this book on the flights to Rome. It's basically an account of Hunters life, and life with Hunter, by the people who knew him best. Anyone who has an interest in HST would find it fascinating, but I'd recommend it to anyone. The last chapters, despite the ending being ruined for me by Jemma, are particularly moving. Warts and all, there's no attempt to paint a picture of a particularly nice man, but the affection and admiration are impressive. Plenty of laughs, too, and gives the reader something to think about the next time he takes a piss in the sink.

Over rated,at the very least......

HST is the author and journalist who I've read most in the past 20 years. His influence is s wide-reaching, just about every writer who values the beauty and real meaning of words, the importance of taking a moral stance, the power of journalism to affect people's thoughts and the possibility that even mundane subjects can be presented in a fun way will be visibly influenced by Hunter.

But it's nice to see you gave him a good try by reading a few pages of a book about him.
