Part of tonights homework (My Son's) was to describe your hometown/place you live in now.........but in Spanish.
He chose Birmingham as the place he lives in, not the place he was born.
What could I say really?
Suggestions on a postcard please.
On an A4 sheet of 100gsm would do, but you would need to write in very BIG letters.
Personally, I'd cheat and go onto Virtual Brum - swipe whole loads of it, juggle it around, and submit it! :)
As for my home town, Welwyn Garden City, erm...? It's better than Telford! :p

Yes, they were due to expand the tracks from 2 to 4 by building more tunnel(s) and another viaduct... They ran out of money, however, and the proposal got canned...
The other option would have been to close Welwyn North - that didn't go down too well! 
Barnet Town!
From the top of Barnet Church's tower it is the highest point between London and York in the North and the Ural Mountains to the East.
In 5 minutes I am on the motorway, half an hour in the city centre, and 15 minutes the other way in countyside. In 30 mins I can be at Emirates. Underground and overground connections.
We have a little football team called Barnet F.C, Arsenal reserves also play at Underhill.
Joe and I live there.
I've just realised that I've spent more nights in Rome than I have in my own bed this year.
So I'll write about Rome.

I tried to read his notes and despite my limited use of the lingo - ie., un vidrio grande de vino rojo por favor -, I grasped a mention of the cathedral and then pretty much the distances to everywhere else! 
Horwich, a little town 6 miles from Bolton and 20 miles from Manchester. We have some stunning countryside around here. We're at the bottom of Winter Hill. Lord Leverhulme had an estate up here and there were lions and bears roaming round it approximately 100 years ago. We also have Liverpool castle, built as a ruins. The Commonwealth biking and running events were filmed there. We're right on the motorway, and about 10 years ago we became the new home of Bolton Wanderers.
It's full of inbreds though.

Also home to Rivington Barn, strangest venue I've ever worked in. Frank Sidebottom about twenty years ago now.
Also worked at Ingersoll-Rand for a couple of weeks, even longer ago, not so much fun as the gig at the barn though.
and even longer ago used to go swimming in that little pond between Rivvy Pike and the Black Dog pub down Belmont way.

i just recently moved to a suburb of hartford, connecticut. the poorest city in CT. not as bad as florida, but it's fucking freezing right now!

The Blue Lagoon! I wonder how many people drowned in that over the years. There are currents underneath due to the mine shafts. I know of at least 10 people who died. Cheery.

Hartford also has the worst fucking bus station in the world. Has to be avoided late in evening !!

Welwyn, like the other new towns of that ilk, is the home of the Radburn layout. Basically the front drive is next to the kitchen and the living room is at the front of the property, which is actually at the back.
Little Hulton not nearly as rough as some folk pretend, basicaly an overspill area that dates back to the slum clearances/high rise housing failure in Salford.
Coniston Avenue where I was brought up was the home of Sean and Paul Ryder at one end and Chris Ecclestone at the other
Pat and Matt Carroll of Central Station Design were about five minutes walk away
Apparently some cunt out of a boyband called BBMak was brought up here too
That said some of the myth that the Ryders came up with about L.H is just that, a myth. Bez on the other hand was a Swinton lad who moved up this way, generally Bez's life in L.H/Walkden was as he described in his book
