Meanwhile over here, we find an ACTUAL car bomb (as in, a car, with explosives), and it's NOT EVEN THE TOP STORY. Terrorists 1 : Mainlanders 0

Beeb A 300lb car bomb has been discovered during a security operation in Castlewellan, County Down, on Saturday.

The alert began after a telephoned warning on Tuesday which claimed a bomb had been left in the village.

An army bomb disposal team carried out a detailed search of the car which had been left in the Dublin Road/Burrenreagh Road area.

Police superintendent Greg Blain said those responsible had shown a "callous disregard" for people's lives.

"They planted a large viable device in a car, abandoned it in an area close to local houses and schools, and then phoned through vague warnings about the locality and nature of the threat," he said.

"They placed the lives of every man, woman and child in the area at risk and simply have nothing to offer society."

A police spokesperson said the forensic and clean-up operation may take another few hours.

A number of controlled explosions were carried out earlier in the week after what police called "several suspect items" were found in the vehicle.

If that had been in London, the country would now be closed, and News 24 would be showing wobbly shots of the city skyline for 7 hours.
