So any picks here today for a real man's football?

Normally would go with the Steelers, but think I'll go for the Cardinals as it being thier first time there.

Commercials better be worth it, last few years they haven't been much better than regular old commercials...

My mom's whole family lives in Pittsburgh. My grandpa played semipro football for Art Rooney before the Steelers were founded-

so HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!!

Seem to recall reading somewhere that in the 3 or 4 hours that this takes to broadcast, the ball is typically in play for around 12 mins. It's like going to see a Grand Prix and watching a lap.

(or going to a British Leyland plant in the 70's for 15 mins to see a day's work).

Real men? run about wrapped in cotton wool for a total of 12 min broken into about 50 small segments? If that's a real man......that would make me.....I dunno.....Chuck Norris or something.

a sport so homoerotic and yet so homophobic.

This is brutal television.

Jennifer Hudson is singing, and lets be honest, if her family wasnt killed, she wouldnt be doing this.

Then that airline crew came out on the pitch, for NO REASON, waved and fucked off.

Faith Hill was there singing a song which is like the national anthem but actually isnt, which again, is pointless.

And we've jsut had some warplanes fly over. Again, pointless.

I will say that the two pundits on the BBC are far better than most of the real football pundits on the BBC.

Think I see your problem, you're thinking "Wemberley on a summer Sunday". You SHOULD be thinking "Red Square, May Day".

Why is it called a touchdown if you dont need to touch the ball down

Are you talking about Wrestling? One reason they avoid showing high school and college wrestling on TV live is because of the erections some guys get... and also it is boring and stupid.

You don't even need to step in the end zone, all you have to do is put the ball into the virtual vertical plane in the air. You could jump over the front corner of the end zone without even touching anything, unless you catch the ball in the back of the end zone and then you have to touch both feet down unless pushed out. I know... you don't care.

How much actual action is in a soccer game? About 10 minutes maybe if you edit out the dicking around with the ball.

I suppose you could have made a rather significant typo? Not very likely I admit.

Only a closet homophobe of homophobic homoerotic sports is upset about the closet homoeroticsm of sports enjoyed by homophobes who may in fact be turned on by the homoeroticsm but not always. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar

Prince played there a couple of years ago and the commentators got into trouble for making some joke about a daft rumour that was going around at the time - that Prince had had a couple of ribs removed so that he could suck his own willy.

Then there was the 'wardrobe malfunction' that saw Janet Jackson's nipple revealed.

This year, some mix-up at a broadcast station meant that a few mins of hardcore porn was broadcast by 'mistake'.

No wonder the viewing figures are so high

the BBC are toying with a similar tactic for One Man and His Dog and Darts, and Songs of Praise; something about justification of the license fee

The Jenna Channel would probably get a few more subscribers if they put half an hour of sport on for every three minutes of their usual stuff.

Would save anyone from having to change channels at all.

Here is the News

Why, perchance, is that a daft rumour?? Makes sense to me.

I thought it sounded funnier worded that way. Or I am concious that Mr Prince has lawyers all over the interweb and may come and sue me.

One of the two.
