Mrs GaryMac took delivery of A Pashley Princess bicycle yesterday, her company have got some cycle to work scheme going which means some sort of tax breaks/funding .... details whatever.

Anyway, this bike is a thing of fookin beauty in a 1930's Agatha Christie lady village detective way.

you cant even see the welding joins! My last bike looked like it'd been gaffa taped together and then sprayed.

It really is a lovely looking thing

So lovely it can't be kept outside, so unless I/we get used to walking around it, eating with it, reading near it and listening to the radio with it; then there's only one option

I am going to have to buy a SHED

I get ever nearer to a facsimile of my Dad with every passing year.....

I'm sure me Dad used to have a Pashley.Heavy as fuck it was. Especially if you're on a country path and have to lift it over a fooking stile.

very nice too, though that aint the Pashley Princess version mrs GaryMac bought, her Pashley Princess looks like something from the Wizard of Oz/Mrs Marple, with a whicker basket on the front and panniers on the back. Rear locking wheel and in RACING GREEN to boot. Oh and a proper set of mudguards too

Incidentaly the bloke version of the bike doesn't have a whicker basket on the front, no; the extras option for fellas is a leather holder designed for a bottle of sherry/vin rouge/Bushmills which fits to the handlebars. Old fashioned ingenuity that n possibly a bit sexist not offering it to the laydees, though a whicker basket holds more than one bottle so maybe they get the better deal anyways

and again a thing of beauty

and as Monty says;

heavy as a bastard

as you were
