Who watched Watchmen? :)

Being a huge fan of the comic book since the 1st time I've read it 20 years ago... no, wait. I was 14 and didn't liked it much because I couldn't understand a big deal of it. I was SO childish I couldn't figure out what rape was, after reading my first rape scene ever.

I don't think the film was intended for the general public, wich is probably a huge mistake and a non sense. But then again, there was no other way to present that story on screen or in any media. I've attended the premiére on friday, and some people left the cinema in the middle of the screening, and a few more close to the end. Perhaps they were waiting for the typical super-hero film, despite the massive advertising -- or not believed it?

Here is the opening credits sequence. My favourite part of the film by far. I think it could be even better if the director kept this style on the whole motion picture. But It's a godd movie, as good as possible... the actors surprised me, except by Malin Akerman -- she's freaking HOT! but can't act at all. The guys who play Rorschach, Nite Owl and Dr. Manhattan were great and the visual effects are stunning. As an almost literal translating of the book, it's much better than Sin City or 300.

The film was shit, Hitler agrees.

Yep. He also wrote The League Of The Extraordinary Gentlemen, From Hell, Miracleman, Promethea, The Swamp Thing and created the John Constantine character, among others.

Don't wanna sound nerdy, but altough the end of Watchmen has been changed on the movie, I still enjoyed it a lot.

I'd never read the novel and knew nothing about the story going in, but I FREAKING LOVED IT!!

People expecting Fantastic 4 or some bullshit are going to be disappointed, which is kind of understandable as that's how it's being marketed.

Will sound elitist, but if you go in expecting a philosophical arthouse film you will be in a much better mindset to appreciate it.

And yes, Silk Spectre is hot.

I hated and loathed V for Vendetta, though, what a bullshit movie that was.

Great film and highly relevant to the times we are in. Might be a British thing though.

A little too British indeed, but that's the point of it. Nonethless, I think the movie was nice, and the book is a classic. Really worth reading.

Regarding Silk Spectre, I'd prefer the first one: Ms. Carla Gugino, for my pleasure

I liked Watchmen, interesting, did not seem 2.5 hours long. Sure, uneven but then the story is a ambitious mix of classic comics, "post-modern" comic, and satire. I don't know how they changed the ending but the ending in the movie is kinda anti-climatic.

Some of the characters are rather boring, maybe could have used better actors, but then maybe they are suppossed to be kinda boring cliches to began with, and that is how the story is messing with you. Could have a better Silk Scepter 2 thou. I read online that Tom Cruise was rumoured to be the rich eqyptian ex-superhero guy, that would have been great. And The Comedian never tells a joke, is just a cynical asshole

I won't spoil the book, but the original ending could be even more anti-climatic IMHO... probably intended to be?

I dunno... mebbe he lives there now, but I saw a London regional news programme a couple of years ago, and he was being interviewed in the Albany in Deptford, and you got the impression he was a regular.
